Paradise Dock on the River Lea in Hackney, east London was built in the 1830s to serve thriving local businesses, including the glass works, boat builders, indian rubber factory and the famous Carbonic works. Decommissioned and filled during the 1960s, the two-acre dock and surrounding area is now part of a large-scale regeneration project known as Paradise Park. The £38 million residential development at Paradise Park consists of 132 residential units, with a total floor area of 12,000 m2, 700 m2 of office space spread over 12 blocks and the refurbishment of six blocks. The entire area is completely surrounded by 60 acres of open parkland and is less than one mile from the new Olympic Park complex.
CCL was commissioned to supply and supervise installation and stressing of their new flat-slab unbonded 0.6” system on four multi-storey residential blocks at Paradise Park, with approximately 51 tonnes of 0.6” greased and sheathed strand.
Lancsville Construction selected CCL as the sub-contractor supervising and supplying the unbonded post-tensioning system on this project. This selection was based on CCL’s unique package of providing full-time specialist supervision and direction to Lancsville Construction operatives throughout the post-tensioning works, our exceptional service, and past performance.
