Våra Pappelinamattor är svenskt hantverk från början till slut, och bygger på ett nära samarbete mellan formgivning och väveri. Men vi är mer än färgstarka perfektionister, vi vill ge dig en högkvalitativ happykick som känns i hela kroppen. Vi gillar det vi gör och hoppas att du också gör det.

IT ALL BEGAN 15 YEARS AGO

I can still recall the feeling I had when I first found a stock of plastic ribbons from the 60’s at a small weavery here in Dalarna. I had just begun weaving my linen rugs and was looking for my own form of expression, one that combined high-quality craftsmanship with modern design and functionality. Suddenly, with those ribbons, a whole new world opened up to me!

Along with the craftmen of the weavery, I began experi- menting with the ribbons, developing new colours, techniques, patterns – elevating the classic plastic rug of Sweden to a whole new level. Twice as thick and with bold-coloured patterns, the Pappelina rug began to take the world by storm. And that’s how we are where we are today. Pappelina is growing, yet at our core remains small-scale local Dalarna craftsmanship. It is only our market that has grown to be global.

DET BÖRJADE FÖR 15 ÅR SEDAN

Jag kommer fortfarande ihåg känslan när jag hittade ett lager av plastband från 60-talet hos ett litet väveri i Dalarna där jag just hade börjat väva mina linmattor. Jag hade letat efter ett eget uttryck som kombinerade högkvalitativt hantverk med modern form och funktion. Och plötsligt öppnade sig en helt ny värld!

Tillsammans med väveriet började jag experimentera med plastbanden och ta fram nya färger, tekniker och mönster. Drömmen blev att ta den klassiska svenska plastmattan till en ny nivå. Dubbelt så tjock och med stora färgstarka mönster tog Pappelinamattan Sverige med storm. På den vägen är det. Pappelina växer men kärnan är fortfarande småskaligt lokalt hantverk i Dalarna. Det är bara marknaden som blivit global.

PAPPELIGHTNi kanske känner igen den! Lampan som var populär under 60-talet. Vi bestämde oss för att göra en egen variant. Lampskärmen lindas med samma plastband som vi väver våra mattor med. Lampan tillverkas i lite skala av oss i Dalarna. STORLEK Ø 20 cm, 33 cm hög. Max 40 W.

Maybe you recoqnize it! The lamp that was popular during the 60’s. We decided to do our own version. The lampshade is made of the same plastic stripes as our rugs. They are produced in a limited edition in Dalarna, Sweden. Only for the European market.SIZE Ø 20 cm, 33 cm high. Max 40 W.
