Book Project Sequel: Paper Valentine By Brenna Yovaoff 

 The Valentine Killer has been arrested for nearly two weeks, and Hannah Wagnor 

hasn’t gotten used to the fact that her classmate was the murderer. She just couldn’t believe it. She couldn’t believe that the boy sitting next to her during detention, was the murderer. He was the one that brutally murdered young teenage girls in the nearby forest. Even she would have been killed if it weren’t for her younger sister and Finny Boone. She couldn’t believe that if her sister wasn’t there, her head would have been smashed right into the hard, concrete base of the bridge in the forest. 

Hannah knew clearly that those girls died without knowing they’d be killed. She only wished she’d be able to stop the killer. 

“Hannah, quit daydreaming. Start driving, mom will get mad at us for coming home so late.” Hannah’s younger sister, Ariel groaned. 

“Oh. Sorry. I was thinking about those girls. The ones who were…” she couldn't continue. It was horrible. She wondered what were their last thoughts before their souls perished from Earth. She just wanted to forget everything. Everything about the Valentine KIller. Hannah jammed the keys in the ignition and drove to their house from Ariel’s after­school class.  

As they drove in their street, Hannah noticed Finny walking through their house. The bruise of the Valentine Killer’s fingers were starting to sore.  

“Ariel, you go on inside. Tell mom that I’m going to talk with Finny for awhile.” Hannah asked as she parked in their driveway. Ariel nodded, grabbed her belongings, and used Hannah’s keys to get inside. Hannah cautiously stepped out of the driver’s seat, and walked over to Finny. 

“How are your wounds?” Finny sincerely asked as he reached for the scrape on Hannah’s forehead.     “Healing, I guess. But they still hurt a lot.” Hannah rubbed her forehead and she grinned like an idiot. Finny and Hannah’s relationship was the same. They were just friends, but now, Ariel wants them to be together. When Hannah finally returned home, Ariel announced that since Finny saved Hannah’s life, she approves of him. Of course they needed her mother and their step­father, Decker to let them be together.  

“So when the killer attacked you, did you really see the ghosts of those girls?” Finny wondered after completely changing the subject.  

“Yeah,” Hannah’s stopped grinning, “I wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t believe me though. 

“No, I believe you. What did they say? The ghosts of the girls, I mean.” he slightly 

smiled. “Nothing, they were just scaring that murderer…” Hannah began to frown. “Well I’m sure that they’re happy that someone stopped the killer. The fact that there 

will be no more Valentine Killer victims, is what calms them? I guess.” Finny patted Hannah’s head. 

“Hannah, we’re eating dinner now. Come inside.” Ariel called from the porch where the hammock was.  

“I better get going now. Bye. See you at school.” Hannah turned around to walk home. 

“Yeah, sure.” Finny stuck his hands in his pockets and started to walk away.
