The night was warm and it was already past midnight. I laid in bed tossing and

turning, unable to sleep. Then, I got out of the bed and walked to the kitchen to drink

some water. Everybody else in the house was sleeping soundly. So, I entered the kitchen

without switching on the kitchen light. I did not want to make any noise.

All of a sudden, I heard a sound like the shuffling of feet. I was quite frightened.Before I could turn and run back to my bed, I saw a dark shadow dashing out of our front

door. For a moment, I did not know what to do. I was too frightened. Finally I shouted,

Help! Help! Some of the people in the house woke up and my father came running into

the kitchen.
