18th Annual Penn-York Conference for Undergraduate Research

Tamaira Oliveras and Bailey Anne Low presented Antimicrobial Properties of Various Domestic

Honey at the 18th annual Penn-York conference for undergraduate research, hosted at Hilbert

College on Saturday, November 4, 2017.

This conference gives presenting students the real-world experience of the professional presenta-

tions commonly found in academic environments, and it is also an excellent resume-builder for

students looking to apply to graduate school. Undergraduates of any field of academic study are

invited to submit their research for presentation at the conference.

Projects from all disciplines in the behavioral and social sciences, biological, computational and

physical sciences, health-related and applied sciences, and humanities were welcomed.

In previous years, more than a dozen universities across Pennsylvania & New York have sent their

students to present their research in an academic environment.

PTA Students worked with a variety of aged infants and children, assessing and applying developmental milestone skills and reflexes.

Dr. Robin Choo's class took a trip to Drake Well State Park to call in great horn owls and enjoy a campfire with smores.

The University of Pittsburgh at Titusville ranked 67 out of 100 as Best Two-Year College for Adult Learn-ers. Washington Monthly reported that nearly half of all college students are twenty-five years or older and ranked schools that best service the needs of this population.
