1. PC Suite

PC Suite is a Windows-based PC program that allows you to easily manage personal data and multimedia files by connecting your Phone to a PC.

1.1. System Requirements To use the PC Suite, you need: Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP family and VISTA 32bit At least 300MB of free disk space Interface devices such as USB and Bluetooth for the connection with the Phone ※ To use the PC Suite multimedia functions such as MMS Composer, Microsoft

® DirectX

®

version 9.0 or higher is required.

1.2. PC Suite Features PC Suite includes the following functions and features:

PC Suite Launcher - Provides the shortcut icons to start each PC Suite application.

Connection Manager - Allows you to select the type of PC to Phone connection you'd like to make.

Contact Manager

- Allows you to retrieve personal information saved in the Phone, such as Phonebook and Calendar and to add new data or delete and edit saved data.

Message Manager - Allows you to view, edit, and organise Messages from the Phone on a PC. It also

enables you to copy and move Messages between the Phone and a PC. In addition, you can send Text Messages or Multimedia Messages using this application, provided it is connected to the Phone.

PC Sync

- Allows you to synchronise personal data saved in the Phone with the data saved in the PC’s personal information management program. PC Sync supports both Microsoft® Outlook® and Outlook® Express.

File Manager - Allows you to browse multimedia files saved in the Phone in the Windows Browser

and to download files or to upload PC files to the Phone. Image Editor

- Allows you to retrieve and edit pictures taken using the Phone and saved on a PC. Image Editor includes various different editing functions.

Video Editor

- Allows you to produce and edit movies using multimedia content such as photos, movies and sounds.

MMS Composer

- Allows you to make and edit Multimedia Messages using content such as photos, movies, sounds and text. The Multimedia Messages produced using MMS Composer can be saved to, or sent via, the connected Phone.

Internet Access - Allows you to access the Internet using the connected Phone as a modem.

1.3. A Note on Program Installation / Removal

If you do not install the PC Suite then your mobile device will not work with your PC, since this software contains the device driver.

Before installing PC Suite, make sure that the connection between the Phone and PC is disabled. In the case of removal or re-installation of the program, make sure of it as well. Failure to disable this connection may mean tasks are not performed correctly.

Excecute “PantechPCSuite.exe” from your PC to install PC Suite. And Select the language you want as below.

And continue to follow the instructions until the installation is completed as below

※ If PC Suite dosen’t recognize the phone after installing the program, make sure the cable is plugged securely into both the phone and the computer, and that your mobile is turned on. If you continue to have problems, reboot your computer and if necessary, re-install the PC Suite.

2. Connection

2.1. Connecting Phone to PC PC Suite connects an Phone (referred to as the ‘Phone’) to a PC and provides various functions to manage your Phone data using a PC.

You can connect a PC to the Phone using two different options: USB or Bluetooth. Connection Manager allows you to choose the connection type.

To connect your Phone to the PC you need to:

1. Install the PC Suite

2. Install your Bluetooth driver (if required)

3. Start the PC Suite by double clicking the icon on your desktop 4. Choose the connection type using the PC Suite Connection Manager.

5. Set up the Phone for connection – for example, select whether to use Bluetooth.

6. Connect the Phone to a PC using your chosen connection.

2.2. Starting Connection Manager Connection Manager can be started through either of the following:

When PC Suite is started a launcher window appears. In the launcher window, select the pulldown menu File > Connection.

Point to the PC Suite tray icon and click the right button of your mouse. When the Context menu appears, click Connection.

In each PC Suite application, click Connection in the submenu of the pulldown menu File. 2.3. USB Click the USB icon in the main screen of Connection Manager. In the example below, USB is marked in the ‘Select Connection Type’ box.

When USB is selected in Connection Manager and the Phone is connected to a PC via a USB data cable, PC Suite recognises the connection. Your Phone model is displayed in the connection status area at the bottom like this:

[Model Name] Connected

For connection via USB, the USB driver for the Phone needs to be installed on the PC in advance.

USB Driver is automatically installed by setting up PC Suite. 2.4. Bluetooth In the main screen of Connections Manager, choose Bluetooth and then select Change Port at the top right. A new window will appear enabling you to choose the Bluetooth DUN (Dial Up Networking) Port.

In this window, choose the DUN port number of the connected Bluetooth device and click OK.

If the Bluetooth function is enabled in the Phone, the connection is displayed in the Connection Manager settings as follows:

[Model Name] Connected

For connection via Bluetooth, the Bluetooth device should be installed on the PC and the DUN (Dial Up Networking) of the device should be available. In addition, it is essential you have Bluetooth Pairing between PC and Phone.

For further information about DUN installation of a Bluetooth device, refer to the software instructions.

3. Contact Manager

3.1. Overview Contact Manager is a PC Suite application for easy management of data including Phonebook, Calendar and the WAP Profile of a Phone.

Contact Manager allows you to retrieve, modify, delete, and add a variety of Phone data and copy it to a PC for storage.

The functions provided by Contact Manager include:

Phonebook Management Calendar Management

You can move to each function using the shortcut button on the left of Contact Manager’s main screen.

3.2. Starting Contact Manager Contact Manager can be started as follows.

When PC Suite is started, a launcher window will appear. In the launcher window, select the Contact Manager icon.

Point to the PC Suite tray icon and click the right button of your mouse. When the Context menu appears, click Contact Manager.

3.3. Phonebook Management

3.3.1. Overview In the Phonebook screen of Contact Manager, you can manage Phonebook data saved on the Phone and PC.

The shortcut area on the left of the screen is divided into a Phone area and PC area. The Phone area consists of in-built Phone memory and SIM.

Simply click a link in the shortcut and the saved Contacts list is displayed in the right list area. ※ When the Phone is not connected to a PC; the Phone area is disabled, so you can only use

the PC area.

3.3.2. Creating New Contacts

To create New Contacts in the Phone and PC folder you need to:

① Click the New button in the toolbar icons or select the pulldown menu File > New.

② When the New Contact window appears, input data and click the OK button.

The data created following the above procedure is instantly saved in the corresponding area of the connected Phone or PC.

3.3.3. Modifying Contacts

To modify Contacts saved in the Phone and PC areas you need to:

① Select and click the data you want to modify in the Contacts list, or select the data and click the Edit button in the Preview area.

② When the Edit Contact window appears, modify the data and click the OK button.

The data modified in the above procedure is instantly applied in the corresponding area of the connected Phone or PC.

3.3.4. Deleting Contacts

To delete Contacts saved in the Phone and PC areas you need to:

① Select the data to delete in the Contacts list and press the Del key, or select the data and use the pulldown menu Edit > Delete.

② When the warning window appears, click OK to confirm deletion.

The data deleted in the above procedure is instantly removed from the corresponding area of the connected Phone or PC and cannot be restored.

3.3.5. Transferring Contacts between your Phone and PC

Contact Manager allows you to copy and transfer the Phone and PC Contact data. The Phone Contacts can be backed up to the PC and restored later if necessary.

To copy or transfer data between the Phone and PC you need to:

① Select the item to copy or transfer in the Phone or PC area and click the right button of the mouse.

② When the menu appears, select Copy or Cut.

③ In the left shortcut area, select the folder where the selected data is to be copied or transferred. In the right data list area, select an empty line and click the right button of the mouse.

④ When the menu appears, select Paste.

※ A drag and drop function is provided for data copy and transfer. 3.4. Calendar Management

3.4.1. Overview

In the Contact Manager Calendar screen you can manage the Calendar data saved in the Phone and PC.

The shortcut area on the left of the screen is divided into a Phone area and a PC area and both consist of Schedule, Anniversary, Task, and Memo shortcuts.

Copy a specific area in the left shortcut area and the list of Calendar items saved for the PC or Phone area will be displayed in the list area. ※ When the Phone is not connected to a PC the Phone area is disabled, so you can only use

the PC area.

3.4.2. Creating New Calendar Items To create New Calendar items in the Phone and PC areas you need to:

① Click the New button in the toolbar when the items in the area to create have been selected, or select the pulldown menu File > New.

② When the New Schedule (or Anniversary, Task, or Memo) window appears, input data and click the OK button.

The item created in the above procedure is instantly saved in the corresponding area of the connected Phone or PC.

3.4.3. Modifying Calendar Items

To modify Calendar data in your Phone or PC you need to:

① Select and double click the data you want to modify in the Calendar data list, or select the data and click the Edit button in Preview area.

② When the Edit Schedule (or Anniversary, Task, Memo) window appears, modify the data and click the OK button.

The data modified in the above procedure is instantly applied in the corresponding area of the connected Phone or PC.

3.4.4. Deleting Calendar Items

To delete Calendar data you need to:

① Select the data to delete in the Calendar data list and press the Del key, or select the data and use the pulldown menu Edit > Delete.

② When the warning window appears, click the OK button to confirm deletion.

The item deleted in the above procedure is immediately deleted from the corresponding area of the connected Phone or PC and cannot be restored.

3.4.5. Transferring Calendar Data between Phone and PC The Contact Manager allows you to copy and transfer your Phone and PC Calendar data. The Phone Calendar data can be backed up to the PC and restored later when necessary. To copy or transfer Calendar data between the Phone and PC you need to:

① Select the data to copy or transfer in the Phone or PC area data list and click the right button of the mouse.

② When the menu appears, select Copy or Cut.

③ In the left shortcut area, select the shortcut where the selected data is to be copied or transferred. In the right data list area, select an empty line and click the right button of the mouse.

④ When the menu appears, select Paste.

※ A drag and drop function is provided for data copy and transfer ※ Copy and transfer is only possible between the same Calendar items – for example,

Schedule -> Schedule, Anniversary -> Anniversary etc. 3.6. Importing and Exporting Contact Manager allows you to export the data saved in the PC folder to external data in another format, or to import external Data in another format to the PC folder of Contact Manager.

3.6.1. Importing A range of external data can be imported into the PC area of Contact Manager including:

Various external data can be imported to the Contact Manager (PC archive) including:

① Select the pulldown menu File > Import into Contact Manager.

② When the Import window appears, select the data to import and click the Next button.

③ Select the details that match the kind of data you are importing.

④ When the import is finished, you can check that the selected data has been imported to the Contact Manager Phonebook or the Calendar (PC archive).

3.6.2. Exporting A range of external data can be exported to the Contact Manager (PC archive) including:

To export data from the Contact Manager Phonebook or the Calendar (PC archive) you need to:

① Select the pulldown menu File > Export in Contact Manager.

② When the Export window appears, select the data to export and click the Next button. ③ Select the format you would like to export the data to. You may be asked further

questions to support this format.

④ When the export is finished, you can check that the selected data from the Contact Manager (PC archive) has been exported to the target external data.

4. PC Sync

4.1. Overview The PC Sync application allows you to synchronise your own personal data between your Phone and the management software on your PC.

Using the PC Sync function, you can ensure that the information contained on both your phone and PC are the same and that any modifications that you make to the data on your phone will be updated on your PC and vice versa. You can synchronise your phones data with the following PC applications:

- Contacts: Synchronised with Phonebook items on your Phone. - Calendar: Synchronised with Schedule, Anniversary items on your Phone. - Tasks: Synchronised with Task items on your Phone. - Notes: Synchronised with Memo items on your Phone.

Microsoft®

Outlook®

Express - Windows Address Book: Synchronised with Phonebook items on your Phone.

※ PC Sync may not be supported for Microsoft® Outlook® Notes, depending on the

specifications of the connected Phone. 4.2. Starting PC Sync

Starting PC Sync is simple:

When PC Suite gets started, a launcher window appears. In the launcher window, click the PC Sync icon.

Go to the PC Suite tray icon and click the right button of your mouse. When the Context menu appears, click PC Sync.

4.3. Synchronizing Check the items to synchronise in the main screen of PC Sync and click the Sync button in the toolbar. The checked items will begin to be synchronised. The Sync button in the toolbar icons is only activated when the Phone is connected to a PC.

When synchronization begins, the current status of the synchronization process is displayed in the main screen. If you want to stop the process, click the Stop button in the toolbar.

When synchronization is complete, a window showing completion of synchronization appears. Select the pulldown menu Tools > View last Log to display details of the synchronised data.

4.4. Options and Settings

Click the Options button in the toolbar of the PC Sync main screen for setting up options

4.4.1. General Options Using the General tab in the Options window you can choose the personal management program on your PC and set up the items to synchronise:.

Select PC application: - Select either Microsoft® Outlook® or Microsoft® Outlook® Express. Please note, the

selected application must already be installed on the PC. Select the PC data types you want to synchronise:

- Supported synchronization items according to the selected PC application type are displayed. For Microsoft® Outlook®, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, and Notes are supported. For Microsoft® Outlook® Express, only the Contacts item is supported.

- Check the item to synchronise in the supported items. - To make more detailed adjustments to the settings, select the item and click the Settings

button on the right. - When the Settings window appears, set up the detailed data for each item, such as the

folder and the sync types.

4.4.2. Conflict Resolution The Conflict Resolution tab of the Options window allows you to select how to resolve conflicts in the synchronisation of data.

Data conflicts occur when the same item of data is changed or deleted on both devices. In this case it is necessary to determine which change is the one that should be kept.

You can select one of the following three ways to resolve data conflicts.

Replace the Phone item with the PC item - PC data is applied in all conflict cases.

Replace the PC item with the Phone item - Phone data is applied in all conflict cases.

Add as a new item to both Phone and PC - The different data is kept the same in both devices.

5. Message Manager

5.1. Overview The Message Manager application is provided for easy management of Phone message data, such as Text and Multimedia Messages.

Message Manager allows you to back up Messages saved in the Phone to the PC or to transfer Messages created on the PC directly to the connected Phone.

The functions of Message Manager are:

Text Message Management (SMS) Multimedia Message Management (MMS)

In the shortcut area on the left of the Message Manager main screen, you can move to the screens for each of these functions.

5.2. Starting Message Manager To start Message Manager you need to:

When PC Suite is started, a launcher window appears. In the launcher window, click the Message Manager icon.

Point to the PC Suite tray icon and click the right button of your mouse. When the Context menu appears, click Message Manager.

5.3. Text Message Management

5.3.1. Overview In the SMS screen of Message Manager, you can manage or back up the Text Messages saved in the Inbox, Sent, and Drafts of the Phone to a PC.

The shortcut area on the left of the screen is divided into a Phone area and PC area. Each area consists of Inbox, Sent, and Drafts folders.

Click your chosen link in the left shortcut area and the saved Message list is displayed in the right list area.

※ When your Phone is not connected to a PC, the Phone area is disabled, so you can only use the PC area.

5.3.2. Creating New Text Messages

To create new Text Messages in the Phone or PC Drafts areas you need to: ① Select the Drafts folder of the Phone or PC area and click the New button in the toolbar

icons, or select the pulldown menu File > New > SMS.

② When the New Text Message window appears, input the Recipient and Message and click the Save button.

The data created in the above procedure is instantly saved in the corresponding area of the connected Phone or PC.

※ New Messages cannot be created in the Inbox or Sent areas.

5.3.3. Modifying Text Messages

To modify Text Messages in the Drafts folder of the Phone and PC you need to:

① Select the Drafts folder in the Phone or PC area and double click the data to modify in the Message list on the right, or select the data and click the Edit button in the Preview area.

② When the Edit Text Message window appears, modify the data and click the OK button.

The data modified in the above procedure is instantly applied in the corresponding area of the connected Phone or PC.

※ Inbox and Sent Messages cannot be modified.

5.3.4. Deleting Text Messages

To delete saved Text Messages you need to:

① Select Inbox, Sent, or Drafts in the Phone or PC area, and the data to delete in the Message list on the right, and then press the Del key, or select the pulldown menu Edit > Delete.

② When the warning window appears, click the OK button to confirm the deletion.

The data deleted in the above procedure is instantly removed from the corresponding area of the connected Phone or PC and cannot be restored.

5.3.5. Transferring Text Messages between Phone and PC

Message Manager allows you to copy and transfer Text Messages data saved in the Inbox, Sent or Drafts of the Phone to the PC for backup. Text Messages saved in the Phone Drafts folder can be backed up to the PC and restored to the Phone.

Please note: Messages in your Phone can be backed up to the PC but cannot be restored to the Phone.

To transfer or copy Text Message data in the Phone Inbox, Sent or Drafts you need to:

① Select the data to copy and transfer in the data list of the Inbox, Sent or Drafts folders of the Phone area and click the right button of the mouse.

② When the menu appears, select Copy or Cut.

③ In the left shortcut area, select the PC folder where the selected data is to be copied or transferred. In the right data list area, select an empty line and click the right button of the mouse.

④ When the menu appears, select Paste.

Draft data saved in the PC area can also be copied or transferred to the Phone Drafts folder by using the above procedures.

※ A drag and drop function is provided for data copy and transfer. ※ Messages saved in the Phone Inbox, Sent or Drafts data can be copied and transferred to

the same categories of the PC area - for example Phone Inbox -> PC Inbox, Phone Sent -> PC Sent, Phone Drafts -> PC Drafts

5.3.6. Sending Text Messages

To create and send New Text Messages you need to:

① Select the Drafts folder of the Phone or PC area and click the New button in the toolbar icons, or select the pulldown menu File > New > SMS.

② When the New Text Message window appears, enter the details of the recipients, your message and click the send button.

To select and send Messages saved in Drafts you need to:

① Select the Drafts folder of the Phone or PC area and double click the Text Message you want to send in the Text Message list.

② When the Edit Text Message window appears, check the contents of the Text to send, modify it if necessary, and click the Send button.

5.3.7. Forwarding or Replying to Text Messages Message Manager allows you to forward or reply to Text Messages saved in the Inbox and Sent areas of the Phone and PC.

To forward or Reply to Text Messages you need to:

① Select the Inbox (or Sent) folder of the Phone or PC area.

② In the Text Message list on the right, select the Text Message to be replied to or forwarded.

③ Select the pulldown menu File > Reply or File > Forward, or click the Reply or Forward button in the Preview area.

④ When the Reply Text Message or Forward Text Message window appears, enter the Text Message and click the Send button.

※ The Replying to and Forwarding Text Message function is only available when the Phone is

connected to a PC.

5.5. Multimedia Message Management

5.5.1. Overview In the MMS screen of Message Manager, you can manage or back up the Multimedia Messages saved in the Inbox, Sent and Drafts of the Phone to a PC.

The shortcut area on the left of the screen is divided into a Phone area and a PC area and each area consists of Inbox, Sent, and Drafts folders.

Click a specific link in the left shortcut area and the Message list saved for that area will be displayed on the right.

※ If the Phone is not connected to the PC, the Phone area is disabled, so you can only use the PC area.

5.5.2. Creating New Multimedia Messages

To create a new Multimedia Message in the Drafts area of the Phone and PC you need to:

① Select the Drafts folder of the Phone or PC area and click the New button in the toolbar icons, or select the pulldown menu File > New > MMS.

② MMS Composer starts up enabling you to create a new Message.

③ Create a new Multimedia Message using MMS Composer and click the Save button in the toolbar icons. Select the area where you would like to save the new Message and click the OK button.

The data created in the above procedure is instantly saved in the corresponding area of the connected Phone or PC.

※ New Messages cannot be created in the Inbox or Sent. ※ See the Help section of MMS Composer for more details on how to create Multimedia

Messages. ※ Please note: any data exceeding the Multimedia Message capacity limits permitted by the

connected Phone will not be saved in the Phone. The ‘To Phone’ function can only be used when the Phone is connected to a PC.

5.5.3. Modifying Multimedia Messages

To modify Multimedia Messages in the Drafts folder of the Phone and PC areas you need to:

① Select the Drafts folder of the Phone or PC area and double click the data you want to modify in the right Message list, or select the data and click the Open button in the Preview area.

② MMS Composer starts up enabling you to modify the selected Multimedia Message.

③ Modify the selected Multimedia Message using MMS Composer and click the Save button in the toolbar icons. Select the area where you would like to save the modified Message and click the OK button.

The data modified in the above procedure is instantly applied in the corresponding area of the connected Phone or PC.

※ Messages cannot be modified in the Inbox or Sent. ※ Please note: any data exceeding the Multimedia Message capacity limits permitted by the

connected Phone will not be saved in the Phone. The ‘To Phone’ function can only be used when the Phone is connected to a PC.

5.5.4. Deleting Multimedia Messages

To delete Multimedia Messages saved in the Phone and PC areas you need to:

① Select Inbox, Sent, or Drafts in the Phone or PC area and select the data to delete in the right Message list. Press the Del key, or select the pulldown menu Edit > Delete.

② When the warning window appears, click the OK button to confirm the deletion.

The data deleted in the above procedure is instantly removed from the corresponding area of the connected Phone or PC and cannot be restored.

5.5.5. Transferring Multimedia Messages between Phone and PC

Message Manager allows you to copy and transfer Multimedia Messages data saved in the Inbox, Sent, or Drafts of the Phone to the PC for backup. Multimedia Messages saved in the Phone Drafts folder can be backed up to the PC and restored to the Phone. Please note, Messages in the Phone Inbox or Sent can be backed up to the PC but cannot be restored to the Phone.

To copy or transfer Multimedia Messages from the Inbox, Sent or Drafts from the Phone to

a PC you need to:

① Select the data to copy and transfer in the data list of the Inbox, Sent or Drafts folder of the Phone area and click the right button of the mouse.

② When the menu appears, select Copy or Cut.

③ In the left shortcut area, select the PC folder where the selected data is to be copied or transferred. In the right data list area, select an empty line and click the right button of the mouse.

④ When the menu appears, select Paste.

Draft data saved in the PC can be copied or transferred to the Drafts folder of the Phone by following the above procedure.

※ A drag and drop function is provided for data copy and transfer.※ Inbox, Sent or Draft data of the Phone can be copied and transferred to the same category of the PC area – for example, Phone Inbox -> PC Inbox, Phone Sent -> PC Sent, Phone Draft -> PC Draft. The ‘To Phone’ function can only be used when the Phone is connected to a PC.

Message Manager allows you to create and send new Multimedia Messages using MMS Composer, or to select and send the Multimedia Messages saved in Drafts via the connected Phone.

To create and send new Multimedia Messages you need to:

① Select the Drafts folder of the Phone or PC and click the New button in the toolbar icons, or select the pulldown menu File > New > MMS.

② MMS Composer starts up enabling you to create a new Message.

③ Create a new Multimedia Message using MMS Composer and click the Console button in the toolbar icons.

④ A Preview window appears for you to play the Multimedia Message you have created. Fill in the Recipient, CC and BCC boxes at the bottom of the Preview window and click the Send button.

To send Multimedia Messages saved in the Drafts folder you need to:

① Select the Drafts folder of the Phone or PC area and double click the Multimedia Message to send in the list.

② MMS Composer starts up enabling you to create a new Message.

③ Modify the selected Multimedia Message using MMS Composer and click the Console button in the toolbar icons.

④ A Preview window appears allowing you to play the modified Multimedia Message. Fill in the Recipient, CC and BCC boxes at the bottom of the Preview window and click the Send button.

※ The Sending Multimedia Message function is enabled only when the Phone is connected to

a PC. ※ You can check whether the Multimedia Message was successfully sent by looking in the

Sent area on the Phone.

5.5.7. Forwarding or Replying to Multimedia Messages Message Manager allows you to forward or reply to Multimedia Messages saved in the Inbox and Sent areas of the Phone and PC.

⑤ A Preview window appears for you to play the Multimedia Message. Fill in the Recipient, CC and BCC boxes at the bottom of the Preview Window and click the Send button.

6. File Manager

6.1. Overview File Manager allows you to transmit various multimedia files from an Phone to a PC and vice versa.

Using File Manager, you can send and save pictures and movie files shot by your Phone. You can also manage multimedia contents downloaded to your PC.

The interface of File Manager is similar to that of a Windows Explorer. It is divided into separate Phone and PC areas – folders and files can be browsed in each area.

* File Manager only recognize the internal memory in the phone. 6.2. Starting File Manager Starting File Manager is simple:

When the PC Suite is started a launcher window appears. In this window, click the File Manager icon.

Point to the PC Suite tray icon and click the right button of your mouse. When the Context menu appears, click File Manager.

6.3. Viewing Folders and Files The shortcut area on the left of the File Manager main screen is divided into a Phone area and a PC area. The folders for each area are displayed in a tree structure.

Click a specific folder under the Phone or PC area. The list of files under the selected folder is displayed on the right of the screen.

※ When the Phone is not connected to a PC, the Phone area is disabled, so you can only use the PC area.

※ The Phone folders differ depending on the model of the connected Phone. 6.4. Transferring Files between the Phone and PC File Manager is used to transfer saved files between the Phone and a PC.

To copy saved files from the Phone to a PC you need to:

① Select the Phone area in the shortcut area and the folder containing the file you want to copy.

② Select the file to copy or transfer in the file list on the right and click the right button of the mouse. Select Copy from the menu.

③ In the PC area of the left shortcut area, select the folder that you would like to transfer the file into. In the right file list area, select an empty location and click the right button of the mouse. Select Paste from the menu.

To copy saved files from the PC to the Phone you need to:

① Select the PC area in the shortcut area and the folder containing the file to transfer or copy.

② Select the file to copy or transfer in the file list on the right and click the right button of the mouse. Select Copy (or Cut) from the menu.

In the Phone part of the left shortcut area, select the folder where the copied or cut file is to be transferred. In the right file list area, select an empty location and click the right button of the mouse. Select Paste from the menu.

※ Click the ‘To Phone’ button in the toolbar icons to copy the files from the PC area to the Phone.

※ Files from the PC area can also be copied to the Phone using the drag and drop function. ※ In the Phone area, each folder permits only certain file types. Non-permitted file types

cannot be saved. 6.5. Opening Files File Manager allows you to open files in the Phone and PC areas by executing linked programs.

Double click files in the Phone or PC area to open the files using linked programs.

In the case of files located in Phone area, finish transmitting them to the Temporary Folder before opening.

※ The Temporary Folder is used to save files from the Phone temporarily in a PC. 6.6. Renaming Files

To rename files in the Phone or PC area you need to:

① Select a Phone or PC area folder in the left shortcut area.

② Select the file to rename in the right file list and click the right button of the mouse. When the menu appears, select Rename.

③ Enter the new file name and press the Enter key.

The new file name is instantly applied to the Phone and the PC.

6.7. Deleting Files To delete files in the Phone and PC area you need to:

① Select a Phone or PC area folder in the left shortcut area. Select the file to delete in the right file list and press the Del key, or select the file and click the right button of the mouse. When the menu appears, select Delete.

7. Image Editor

7.1. Overview Image Editor allows you to manage and edit the photos taken by the Phone and the photo files saved in the PC.

Image Editor provides the following functions:

7.2. Starting Image Editor Starting Image Editor is simple:

When PC Suite is started, a launcher window appears. In the launcher window, click the Image Editor icon.

Point to the PC Suite tray icon and click the right button of your mouse. When the Context menu appears, click Multimedia > Image Editor.

7.3. Editing Photos Image Editor allows you to edit photos and apply various effects.

The Photo Editor screen consists of a File Browsing area on the left, a Photo Editing area in the middle, and an Effect Insertion area on the right.

7.3.1. Basic Editing Tools

Image Editor provides the following basic editing tools. These tools can be applied by clicking the editing icons at the top of the page

Undo: undo the edit by one step. Redo: redo the edit just undone. Fit: photo is displayed to fit the current window size. Actual Size: the actual photo size is shown. Zoom In: the photo size is enlarged. Zoom Out: the photo size is reduced. Rotate Left: rotate the photo by 90° to the left. Rotate right: Rotate the photo by 90° to the right. Mirror: a mirror image of the photo is shown. Flip: the photo is flipped upside down.

7.3.2. Applying Effects Image Editor allows you to apply effects. The effects can be applied by selecting functions from the Effects Insertion area on the right.

Red-Eye: red-eye caused by the shooting environment can be adjusted to make the eyes brown.

Bright: brightness and contrast are adjusted. Filter: photo tones such as Sepia, Green and Blue can be applied. Size: photo size is adjusted. Crop: photo is cropped to a certain size. Inserting Text: text is inserted into the photo.

7.4. Making Animations by Editing Photos Image Editor allows you to make an animation using a number of photos.

To open the Animator screen, select the Animator button in the icons at the top of the Image Fix screen. The Animator screen consists of a Thumbnail Photo area on the left, an Animation Editing area at the top in the centre, and a Preview area on the right.

7.4.1. Inserting and Deleting Frames

Image Editor Animator provides 10 frames by default but you can add and delete frames as needed.

To add frames: ① Select the frame in the frame area at the bottom of the Animation Editing area. ② Click the Insert Frame button below. A new frame is added next to the selected frame.

To delete frames: ① Select the frame to delete in the frame area at the bottom of the Animation Editing area. ② Click the Delete Frame button below. The selected frame is deleted.

7.4.2. Applying Selections to a Frame

Photos can be added to each frame to make an animation:

① In the frame area of the Animation Editing area, select the frame where photos are to be added. ② Adjust photo sizes using the Zoom In/Out button at the top of the Animation Editing area. Adjust the photo locations using the mouse to drag the parts of the photos that you want into the frame area. ③ Click the Copy to Frame button at the top or double click the mouse in the frame application area to apply the selected parts to the frame.

7.4.3. Setting Duration Time The duration of each frame can also be adjusted for animation:

① In the frame area at the bottom of the Animation Editing area, click Duration at the bottom of each frame.

② Select a Duration to apply to the frame - from 0.5 to 5.0 Sec.

7.4.4. Previewing Animation Click the Play button in the Preview area on the right to play the animation you have made.

Preview starts from the selected frame.

7.4.5. Saving Animation to PC

To save your animation to a PC you need to: ① Select the pulldown menu File > Save. ② When the Save window appears, select the file name of the animation and the PC folder and then click the OK button.

8. Video Editor

8.1. Overview Video Editor allows you to edit movies taken by the Phone or to convert combined photos, sounds and movies into another movie file to be played on the Phone.

In addition, you can retrieve movie content from the PC, cut a specific area and transfer it into another movie.

The content formats that you can retrieve and use for editing movies in Video Editor include:

Movies - 3gp, mp4, mpg, avi

Sounds - amr, aac, mp3

Images - Jpg, gif, bmp

※ The Video Editor main screen consists of:

Content Browsing area - You can browse content such as movies, images, and sounds that you want to retrieve.

Video 1 and Video 2 area - In the Video 1 area, the retrieved content is shown and played. In the Video 2 area, the

edited movies are shown and played. Timeline area

- You can import and combine retrieved contents to the Timeline area and edit them by changing locations and reducing them. The Timeline area is divided into Video track and sound track.

8.2. Starting Video Editor

Starting Video Editor is simple:

When PC Suite is started, a launcher window appears. In the launcher window, click the Video Editor icon.

Point to the PC Suite tray icon and click the right button of your mouse. When the Context menu appears, click Multimedia > Video Editor.

8.3. Creating New Projects In Video Editor, you can create and manage a Project file for editing movies. A Project file saves the original location of the source content (movies, photos, and sounds) used for editing, and the editing data. The extension given to a Project file is “.prj”.

To create a new Project file, click the New button in the toolbar icons in the Video Editor main screen, or select the pulldown menu File > New.

8.4. Opening and Saving Projects

Video Editor allows you to open and save Project files so that you can save edited Movie Projects and edit them again later. While movies are being edited, the Movie Project file can be saved by clicking the Save button from the toolbar icons in the Video Editor main screen or by selecting the pulldown menu File > Save. When the Save window appears, input the name of the Project file and click the Save button.

The saved Project file can be opened by clicking the Open button in the toolbar icons in the Video Editor main screen or by selecting the pulldown menu File > Open. When the Open window appears, select the Project file to re-edit and click the Open button.

8.5. Making Movies

8.5.1. Making Movies Using a Variety of Content

To make a new movie using Video Editor and a variety of content you need to:

① Click the New button from the toolbar icons in the Video Editor main screen to create a new Project file.

② Select the file content type to retrieve from the content type tabs – from the left, movie, image, and sound – at the top left of the Content Browsing area.

③ Click the folder icon and select the folder containing the content file that you want to use.

④ The list of contents in each folder is displayed in the Content Browsing area.

⑤ Select the content file that you want to use for the new movie and drag & drop it to the Timeline area.

⑥ Import all the content that you want to use to Timeline area by repeating the above steps.

⑦ In the Timeline, edit the content by adjusting the location and the time of the content using the mouse, or by pressing the Del key to delete the content that you don’t want.

⑧ Edited data in the Timeline can be played in Video 2 area.

⑨ When the editing is completed, save the Project file.

8.5.2. Making Movies Using PC Movie files MPEG Editor allows you to make movies to be played on the Phone using PC Movies.

① Click the New button from the toolbar icons in the Video Editor main screen to create a new Project file.

② Select the movie tab from the content type tabs at the top left of the Content Browsing area.

③ Click the folder icon and select the folder containing the PC movie file that you want to use.

④ The list of files contained in your selected folder is displayed in the Content Browsing area.

⑤ Select the content file that you want to use for the new movie and drag and drop it to Video 1 area.

⑥ Select the parts of the movies to be applied using the selection icon (“{“, “}”) in Video 1 and click the Apply button.

⑦ The selected part of the movies is shown in the Timeline area. Adjust the location and time using the mouse.

⑧ The edited movie in the Timeline can be played in the Video 2 area.

※ Click the Rendering button in the toolbar icons to change the edited movie file to a 3gp file

and to save it to the PC folder. When the Phone is connected, the saved file can be exported to the Phone using File Manager.

8.5.3. Editing Timeline

Timeline allows you to arrange retrieved content in your chosen order to create another new movie.

The Timeline area is divided into Video track and Sound track. The image content is located in the Video track and the sound content is located in the Sound track. The movie content is located in both Video and Sound tracks.

The editing functions that you can use in the Timeline include: Delete the content - images, sounds and movies Edit the time of the content Increase / decrease the duration of the content Unlink the Video and the Sound track of your movie's content

8.6. Rendering The Video Editor Rendering function allows you to convert the edited Project file into a movie file.

The output of the Video Editor Rendering function is mp4, 3gp files – which can be replayed on the Phone – and avi files, which are the source files in the format of PC Movies. To Render a Project file you need to:

① Save the edited movie Project file.

② Click the Rendering button from the toolbar icons in the Video Editor main screen, or select the pulldown menu File > Rendering.

③ When the Rendering window appears, select the file format – mp4, 3gp or avi. Then input the file name and click the Save button.

9. MMS Composer

9.1. Overview MMS Composer allows you to create or edit Multimedia Messages directly on the PC or to send a Multimedia Message you have created via the connected Phone.

Multimedia Message refers to a message format consisting of pages in combination with content as such photos, movie, sounds, and text.

The content formats provided by MMS Composer to create Multimedia Messages include:

Movies - 3gp, mp4

Sounds - amr, aac, mp3

Images - Jpg, gif, bmp

The MMS Composer main screen consists of:

Message Editing area - Each message page can be edited.

Content Browsing area - Here you can browse the content including movies, images, sounds and texts.

Preview area - Here you can preview created and retrieved Messages, enter the recipients of the

Message and attach files.

To start MMS Composer:

When PC Suite is started, a launcher window appears. In the launcher window, click the MMS Composer icon.

Point to the PC Suite tray icon and click the right button of your mouse. When the Context menu appears, click Multimedia > MMS Composer.

9.2. Creating New Multimedia Messages

To create a new Multimedia Message using MMS Composer:

① Click the New button from the toolbar icons of the MMS Composer main screen, or select the pulldown menu File > New.

② A new Multimedia Message appears on an empty page. Add pages and insert your chosen content such as photos, movies, sounds, and text into each page.

9.3. Opening Multimedia Messages In MMS Composer, the MMS management function of Message Manager allows you to open and edit the Multimedia Messages created in the Phone and saved in the PC, or the Multimedia Messages created on the PC.

To open Multimedia Messages saved on your PC:

① Select the pulldown menu File > Open, or select Open on the toolbar at the top.

② The Open Message window appears. ③ Select the folder and the Messages under the folder are displayed in the list area on the

right.

④ Select the Message you want to open from the list – you can check the Messages in Preview.

⑤ Click the ”Open” button.

※ The extension used for Multimedia Messages saved in the PC is “.mms”. 9.4. Saving Multimedia Messages MMS Composer allows you to save Multimedia Messages to the Phone or to a PC.

To save Multimedia Messages to the Phone:

① Create a Multimedia Message following the steps outlined.

② Click the ‘To Phone’ button at the bottom of the Preview area.

③ When the Upload Message to phone window appears, select the folder where you want to save the message.

④ Click the OK button.

To save Multimedia Messages to your PC:

① Create a Multimedia Message following the steps outlined.

② Select Save, or Save as, from the pulldown menu or click the Save button in the toolbar.

③ The Save Message window will appear.

④ Select the PC folder where you want to save the Message.

⑤ Click the OK button.

9.5. Composing Multimedia Messages

9.5.1. Working with Pages MMS Composer provides editing functions for each page as in the Phone.

You can insert a new page or delete the existing page when you create a new Multimedia Message or open and edit a Multimedia Message that has already been created.

The total number of pages for a Multimedia Message is not limited. However, the maximum number of pages may be restricted depending on the Phone model and communication service provider.

To add a new page to the page you are editing:

① Click the ADD icon at the bottom right of the page editing area.

② The current page moves to the left and a new page is created in the editing area in the centre.

To delete a page you are currently editing:

① Click the DEL icon at the bottom right of the page editing area.

② A warning window about the deletion of the current page appears. Click the OK button and the page currently being edited will be deleted.

9.5.2. Inserting Content

To insert images into the page: ① Select the Photo tab (the first icon) in the Content Browsing area on the left. ② Select and double click the image or drag and drop it to the page.

※ Photos and movies cannot be inserted into the same page. ※ The photo formats that can be inserted into Multimedia Messages are jpg, gif and bmp.

To insert movies into the page: ① Select the movie tab (the second icon) in the Content Browsing area on the left. ② Select and double click the movie or drag and drop it to the page. ③ Click the Play button under the page to preview the inserted movies.

※ Movies and sounds or photos cannot be inserted into the same page. ※ The movie formats that can be inserted into Multimedia Messages are 3gp and mp4.

To insert sounds into the page: ① Select the Sound tab (the third icon) in the Content Browsing area on the left. ② Select and double click the sound or drag and drop it into the page. ③ Click the Play button under the page to listen to the inserted sound.

※ Sounds and movies cannot be inserted into the same page. ※ The sound formats that can be inserted into Multimedia Messages are amr, aac, and mp3.

To insert text into the page: ① Write the Text Message in the text editing box under the page – the maximum number

of letters for this box is 255. ② In addition, frequently used Texts can be entered to the Template for use.

9.5.3. Attaching Files To attach files such as vCard and vCalendar:

① Click the File Search icon button at the bottom of the Preview area

② When the open window appears, select the vCard or vCalendar files to attach to the Multimedia Message.

③ Click the Open button to attach the selected file to the Multimedia Message.

9.5.4. Setting Page Duration Time

The playing duration for each page is determined by the duration time value.

The duration time value for each page has priority over the playing time of movies or sounds inserted into the page. For example, if the playing time for inserted movies in a page is 20 seconds, and the duration time is set as 10 seconds, the movie is only played for 10 seconds and moves to the next page.

The default duration time for a page is 5 seconds.

The duration for a page can be set up in the ‘Duration’ box at the centre of the page editing screen.

9.5.5. Previewing Multimedia Messages

To preview a Multimedia Message:

① Click the Play button in the Preview window.

9.6. Sending Multimedia Messages Multimedia Messages created by MMS Composer can be sent via the connected Phone:

① Input data about the recipient at the bottom of the Preview area.

② If necessary, attach files using the File Search icon.

③ Click the Send button.

※ The Sending Multimedia Message function can only be used when the Phone is connected

to a PC.

10. Internet Access

10.1. Overview PC Suite Internet Access provides a Dial-up Connection function via a wizard program. In this instance, the connected Phone is used as a modem device. Through the Dial-up Connection created by Internet Access, you can get access to the Internet services provided by your ISP and use the Internet on the connected PC.

※ For Dial-up Connection, the modem driver of the connected Phone is used as a modem device. While other applications including PC Suite are using this modem driver, the Dial-up Connection cannot be used. So, before using the Dial-up Connection, you need to exit all other programs using the Phone modem driver.

10.2. Starting Internet Access

To start Internet Access: When PC Suite is started, a launcher window appears. In the launcher window, click the

Internet Access icon. Point to the PC Suite tray icon and click the right button of your mouse. When the Select a

Connection menu appears, click Internet Access. You can also create a new Internet Access Connection using Internet Access. In the above

window select Create, Modify and Delete and click the Next button.

① Connect the Phone to a PC to activate the modem driver of the Phone.

② Modify the Phone to the PC so as to enable the Modify modem driver of the Phone.

③ Remove the Phone to the PC so as to disable the modem driver of the Phone.

10.3. Creating a New Connection

To create a new Dial-up Connection using Internet Access:

① Connect the Phone to a PC to activate the modem driver.

② Click Internet Access. When the Welcome window appears, click the Next button. ③ In the following window, select ‘Create’ from Create, Modify and Remove and click the

Next button.

④ In the following Enter the Connection Name window, input the name of the connection to create and click the Next button.

⑤ Check the modem driver of the connected Phone from among the modem devices and click the Next button.

⑥ Select the country and the communications service provider and click the Next button.

⑦ Check the data set up by the Internet Access. If it is all correct, click the Next button.

⑧Finally, click the Finish button.

⑨ Create a shortcut icon for the connection in the Windows background and finish the Internet Access.

The icon for the Dial-up Connection created is shown in Windows. You can connect to the Internet using this icon.

10.4. Modifying a Connection To modify a Dial-up Connection:

① Connect your Phone to the PC to activate the Phone's modem driver.

② Click Internet Access. When the Welcome window appears, click the Next button.

③ In the following window, select ‘Modify’ from Create, Modify and Delete and click the Next button.

④ Select the connection to modify and click the Next button.

⑤ After checking the connected Phone driver (driver name : “Pantech HSUSB Modem”) among the modem devices, click the Next button.

⑥ In the Country and Network Provider window, select the country and the communications service provider and click the Next button.

⑦ Check the data set up by the Internet Access. If it is all correct, click the Next button. ⑧ Click the Finish button.

⑨ Create a shortcut icon for the modified connection in Windows and finish the Internet Access.

10.5. Delete a Connection

To delete the existing Dial-up Connection:

① Click Internet Access. When the Welcome window appears, click the Next button.

② In the following window, select ‘Delete’ from Create, Modify and Delete and click the Next button.

③ Check the Connection to delete and click the Next button. ④ Click the Finish button.

⑤ The selected connection is now deleted and cannot be used.

10.6. Using Dial-up Connection You can access the Internet using the Dial-up Connection created by the Internet Access.

① Exit PC Suite applications using the modem driver on the Phone.

② Connect the Phone to a PC for Internet connection. Check that the modem driver you will use for the Internet connection appears accurately in Windows driver manager.

③ Double click the shortcut icon for the Dial-up Connection on the Windows background screen.

④ Try accessing the Internet using the connected Phone – after a short wait a connection message will be displayed.

⑤ Now you access the Internet using applications such as Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer.

If you try to access the Internet by double clicking the shortcut icon for the Dial-up Connection, and other PC Suite applications are already using the modem driver of the Phone, a warning window will appear saying that the existing connections must be closed. When you click the OK button, PC Suite will be disconnected from the Phone and the Dial-up Connection can use the Phone's modem driver.

Even if PC Suite applications are being executed and the Phone is connected to a PC, the connection status of the PC Suite applications is shown as “Not Connected” while the Dial-up Connection is using the Phone modem.

This is because PC Suite may not use the Phone modem for a Dial-up Connection.

If you finish using the Internet and want to use PC Suite again, click the Connect button at the bottom of the main PC Suite Connection Manager screen.
