Fishtail is a quaint unincorporated community in Stillwater County, Montana, United States. It is located on the West Rosebud Creek. GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Panorama Ranch Subdivision is definitely not a drive by property. The location between

Columbus and Red Lodge is an area that features an untold quantity of recreational opportu-

nities. The Panorama Ranch lies approximately 115 miles north of the northeast entrance to

Yellowstone National Park, 16 miles from the Yellowstone River and 20 miles from the Absa-

rokee-Beartooth Wilderness area. The average annual temperature in Fishtail is 43 degrees

with the average annual rainfall is 25 inches, with the average annual snowfall being 176

inches.

TOPOGRAPHY

The elevation of the subdivision ranges from approximately 4,475 to 4,690 feet above sea

level.

LOCATION

Fishtail: The Panorama Ranch Subdivision is located just south of Fishtail, a quaint Montana

community offering basic services. The population is estimated to be less than 100 people.

The Stillwater Mine is the largest employer in Stillwater County is operated by the Stillwater

Mining Company. The Stillwater Mine is located west of Fishtail, at the base of the moun-

tains.

Absarokee: Absarokee, located approximately six miles northeast of Fishtail is the second

largest community in Stillwater County. The junior high and high schools for the area are lo-

cated in Absarokee. The 2016 population is estimated to be 1,150.

Columbus: With an estimated population of 1,893, Columbus is the largest community in

Stillwater County. Columbus is located approximately 18 minutes northeast of the Panorama

Ranch Subdivision. All major services can be found in Columbus.

Billings: Downtown Billings is approximately 50 minutes from the property. Billings is the

largest city in Montana and has an approximate population of 111,000. Billings offers the

diversity of outdoor adventures, cultural opportunities, shopping, fantastic restaurants, an

international airport, and two regional hospitals.

AIRPORTS

The Billings Logan International Airport houses flights from the following major airlines:

Allegiant, Alaska Airlines, Delta, Cape Air, and United. The Billings Airport also offers private jet

RECREATION & HUNTING

Elk mule and whitetail deer can be found in the areas surrounding the Panarama Ranch

Subdivision. The riparian area along West Rosebud Creek provides excellent big game

wildlife habitat and the creek offers superb fishing opportunities. Outside of hunting,

outdoor opportunities abound in the nearby areas. There are endless acres for ATV use,

hiking and cross-country skiing for all levels of experience. Camp or backpack in the

nearby Beartooth Mountain Range. Downhill skiing can be found just down the road at

Red Lodge. The ranch is located a mere 50 miles from Billings and 64 miles from the

Billings Logan International Airport.
