INFO:Provide the following information:‐MyVisionX S/N (read in the EEprom)‐Firmware, API , Driver and MyDemorelease‐Identity Card (*) S/N and MyVisionXconfigurationNOTE: From INFO window it’s alsopossible to operate all the availablesoftware upgrades (increase inperformance, OCR and barcode enginesand so on)

(*)The ID card is a component thatstores all MyVision X features andgrants that the system runs as statedby licensing rights. The IDCard ismounted on a connector on the mainboard, and is clearly visible under thebase plate area under the scanner.

IDENTITY CARD UPGRADE PROCEDURE

1) Save the MVX_53YYYZZ_IDCard.UpID file received from Panini  in your desktop

2) Using MyDemo, verify the MyVisionX is working properly

3) Click on INFO button in MyVisionX SetUp and verify the Identity Card’s S/N coincides with the S/N reported in the filename. 

If so, click on Upgrade IDCard

IMPORTANT: to obtain an upgrade licence from Panini , the MyVision X Identity card Serial Numberis required. If the S/N reported in the label on the bottom of the scanner or the S/N in the top of the Scanner info are different from the Identity Card S/N,  please use the last for the upgrade request

4) A window with your current IDCardconfiguration appear

(60 dpm, no OCR engines in theexample)

Click on Load IDCard Upgrade file

5) Select and open theMVX_53YYYZZ_IDCard.UpID file

A window with the new IDCard configuration (to the right) and the old IDCard configuration (to the left) will appear.In our example we are increasing the performances of the MyVisionX from 60 to 90 dpm and enabling the device to read OCRA/B, OCR MICR, Barcode 1D and Barcode 2D fonts6) Click on Update IDCard to change the content of the Identity Card, a message IDCard Updated should appear7) Click twice on Exit, then close MyDemo and launch it again. The upgraded MyVisionX is ready to work

• You will need to obtain an upgrade file from PNA. – Supply PNA with the serial number of the unit to be upgraded.

– Supply PNA with the upgrade info (what upgrade do you want?)

– Supply PNA with an email address to send the upgrade file to.

– Supply PNA with a PO for the upgrade.

• Once you receive an email with a file attached from PNA copy it to your desktop.– The file should have an extension of UpID– The serial number of the machine and the number contained in 

the file name must match or the upgrade will not complete.• Next go to the Panini FTP site and download the executable 

file MVXUpgrader.exe and copy it to your desktop.– Please go to http://downloads.paninina.com to access the 

software from your browser.• Login is Upgrade Utility• Password is upgr@d3

– If you are unable to download this file please check with your network administrator an make sure that you have the proper rights and that executables are not being blocked.

• Execute the MVXUpgrader.exe, make sure the MyVisionX is connected and no capture application is running.

Execute the Upgrader

• After a few seconds you should hear the Panini device power up and then see this screen displayed on your desktop.

• Select OK and you are finished.

• If the upgrade fails please confirm that your PC is connected to the Panini device you ordered the upgrade for.
