Aces Manager Phil Nevin in the face of adversity was jovial to say the least joking that he “texted his good friend Boch (Bruce Bochy)… asking him to scratch Bumgarner and send him down too”. We also caught up with Joe Panik who is “very excited” to get back to the Giants to rejoin the rest of his teammates. Panik started today off the day with a striking fastball up the middle for the single. Panik continued with another single in the 5th to only be a victim of a 6-4-3 double play hit by Pence the very next play. Continuing in on the top of the 7th Joe Panik starts the at bat nearly taking a 90mph fastball to the head only to swing sky high to fly out to left. Panik had plenty of opportunities for defensive plays and he didn't disappoint. In the bottom of the 1st backpedaled on his heels to make a 4-3 groundout looking more healthy every play. Panik when asked if he is expecting to play the remainder of the series with the River Cats he responded “I’ll play nine today, nine tomorrow, and we will see where we are after that”. Panik was not the only notable hitter, as Kelby Tomlinson, Ehire Adrianza, Andrew Susac, Travis Ishikawa, and Hunter Pence were all competing as well for the River Cats. Panik ended the day going 2-4 with two singles in the game. Game Analysis The Reno Aces kicked of the night late in the 2nd with a Dan Rolhfing solo home run late in the bottom of the 2nd.

Hunter Pence answers the call in the top of the 3rd with a two run home run Ehire Adrianza came in to follow for the RBI.

Late in the bottom of the 6th the Aces surge, they start it off with a double by Mitch Haniger giving him his first hit of the day and later scored the run. Kyle Jensen reached on a single, Carlos Rivero did the same then the real magic happened, Dan Rohlfing hit a three run home run. The three run shot made it a 5-2 game in favor of the Reno Aces late in the bottom of the 6th.

In the top of the 7th the River Cats Gorkys Hernandez followed up his terrific performance from last night with a double tonight which later scored pulling Sacramento one run closer in a 5-3 deficit.

In the bottom of the 8th Carlos Rivero hit a double driving in Mitch Haniger extending the Aces lead to 6. Haniger, Rivero, and Rohlfing all had part in a run come in. The run occurred off of a walk, double, and another walk.

Two men were left stranded in the top of the 9th giving this ballgame a final score of 7-3 with a Reno Aces victory.

Game three of this four game set will be tomorrow, Thursday July 28th first pitch is at 7:05pm. The Aces look to go ahead in the series with their pitcher Joan Gregorio (3-6, 5.34) as the River Cats start John Omahen (1-0, 4.63).
