management?
• The principle applies « You cant manage, what you
cant measure»
• SDG reporting will support prioritizing national
efforts and learning from eachother
Q2: Feasible SWM data collection / SDGs monitoring
methodology in Africa
• "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” (Leonardo da
Vinci)
• Unnecessary complexity should be avoided at global
level
• Issues: definitions matter: Urban vs Municipal; Regular
collection (every 1-2-3 weeks?), collection (where?)
Q3: Role of ACCP
• « if you want to walk fast, walk alone. If you want to walk
far, walk together » (African proverb)
• ACCP might support the development and application of
common method
• Sharing experiences and learning from each other,
identifying trends
