Agni is the important factor for the maintenance of life, complexion, strength, health, enthusiasm, corpulence, lusture, immunity, energy and vital breath.

Agnimandya is the cause for many disorders.

Through Panchkarma agni can be normalize.

SROTAS AND PANCHAKARMA

For proper functioning of the body it is necessary that the channels of the body are clean and competent to flow the nutrients, excretables, medicaments as well as the energies and impulses.

If the channels are blocked the flow of nutrients and metabolites is obstructed and the total body physiology is distorted leading to a morbid state.

Thus srotodusti is the basic abnormality which is sheet anchor for all disorders.

IMPORTANCE OF POORVAKARMA

Panchkarma procedures are designed to eliminate doshas and restore health to the dhatus, but they can only achieve this goal if the body is ready to let go of the accumulated toxins stored deep within its structures.

Without proper preparation this treatment would remove only the doshas available in the koshta and would little impact on the doshas lodged in the dhatus.

The set of procedures which Ayurveda prescribes to facilitate the removal of doshas toxins form the tissues is collectively called Poorvakarma.

These procedures helps to loosen doshas and move it out of the deep structures in to the GI tract, from where it can be eliminated by pradhana karma.

The two most important procedures of poorva karma are snehana and swedana.

IMPORTANCE OF PRADHANAKARMA

In pradhana karma the doshas will be expelled out without any obstruction, the reason of which is the properties of the shodhana drugs.

Vyavahi, Vikasi – Quickly circulated in to large & small capillaries of the body.

Ushna, Tikshna - The accumulated doshas get liquefies and breakup to small pieces at cellular level.

Detached malas will be expelled out through prabhava

IMPORTANCE OF PASCHATKARMA

The set of procedures that follow the main eliminative treatments of panchakarma and assist this rebuilding process are collectively called paschat karma.

The panchakarma treatments dramatically affect the digestive process. Because, the GI tract provides the primary route for the elimination of toxins.

special attention is given to strengthening digestion at the conclusion of panchakarma.

o Samsarjana karma constitutes the primary post treatment procedure for digestion.

o It consists of specially prepared diet designed to re-establish agni.

o Once this regimen has nurtured the digestive fire back to health, as signaled by strong, consistent appetite, the person can return to a normal diet.

effective result only when it is performed after understanding the fundamentals of Ayurveda and Panchakarma.
