• Covers all major protocol changes of the base spec from rev 14. Most relevant:

• Use of header flags instead of explicit PANA messages• Removal of separate authentication (NAP/ISP)• Removal of common error handling (PFERs and subsequent PNR[E])• Removal of protection capability and post-pana address

validation/feature• Removal of device-id signaling

Additional Changes Simplification of events and action

• Abbreviate insertion of AVPs in a message to make it more readable

• Support for failed session timeout

• Reduce redundant states; i.e. wait states for ping, reauth and eap

• Added REAUTH timeout

Simplification of the document• Remove mobility optimization support – the document reflect only base

protocol functionality
