    Palmyra Nov. 3 d 1834.

    Dear Betsey.

    In answer to your kind letter I would express my obligation to you

    for the present of the hat, and dress, which you made me. I am much pleased with them both, and

    shall ever look upon them as tokens of friendship for which I feel very thankful

    We received the box from Glens Falls last Wednesday should have

    been very glad had the miniature had been in it, suppose it would not have been safe, and should

    not wish to have had it unless it was perfectly so. Aunt wishes me to say to you that she is quite

    obliged to you for the roots which you sent her, her health is better than it was when you left,sends her respects to you.

    You speak of Samuel, and Olive's being unwell should [?] glad to hear of their

    health, Please remember me affectionately [to] each of your family, and other inquiring friends,

    accept ashare of love for yourself.
