PALM SUNDAY: OF THE PASSION OF THE LORD MARCH 25, 2018

Pictured to the left is our beautiful stained glass window of the

Last Supper.

As we begin Holy Week, the most solemn and significant time of the year, we prepare to journey with Jesus from His entry into

Jerusalem, to Calvary, to the empty

Tomb.

May this be a time of deep prayer and

meditation, as we take these steps with Jesus.

May the peace of the

Risen Christ be with us.

Jesus rose from supper and took off his outer garments. He took a towel and tied it around his waist. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciple’s feet and dry them with the towel around his waist.” ̴ John 13:4-6

As we continue in the sacred and solemn Lenten season, we know the joy of Easter is coming ever closer. The Sacred Triduum, when we walk with Jesus from his Passion through Resurrection, is rapidly approaching. The Triduum begins Holy Thursday evening with Mass of the Lord’s Supper which will be celebrated at 7:00 P.M. at St. Germaine Church on March 29th. As the above quotation indicates, an important part of the Liturgy on Holy Thursday night is the Washing of the Feet. Everyone is invited to participate in this beautiful act of worship. Please call the rectory at 412-833-0661 to sign up for this important yearly ritual.
