MISSION STATEMENT
AD INTRA (for ourselves):
To deepen our experience of Jesus Christ through a vibrant
sacramental life and our common liturgical worship.
AD EXTRA (to the world): To reach our vocational
fulfillment individually and as a community by engaging our

As he rode along, the people were spreading their cloaks on the road; the whole multitude of his disciples began to praise God aloud with joy
for all the mighty deeds they had seen. - Lk 19:36,
FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK—DEL ESCRITORIO DEL PASTOR 2
The World in View from a Believer’s Perspective
If you are reading this on, Sunday, April 14th, tonight’s the night! This evening at Holy Cross Church, an ecumenical chorus of Christian believers from around Mesa comprised of some of our own parishioners will be offering God a hymn of praise and a tribute to Jesus’ sacrifice. It is only fitting that such a tribute should start us on our journey through Holy Week. Come and hear the voices of those who have been busy preparing their hearts and minds since November to offer us a scripturally based composition by one of our very talented parishioners, Mrs. Evelyn Sanchez Fink. Welcome anything that can help us along in our devotion to the Crucified and Risen Lord. I hope to see you there.
I snapped this image of our Crucified Lord at an on-going formation conference last year at Boyton Beach Regional Seminary, Florida.
Your Pastor, Fr. Larry

We’d love to have you with us! Each summer, the Franciscan University at Steubenville, Ohio, holds 25 Youth Conferences nationwide with the hopes of strengthening and inspiring teens in their journeys with Christ. Evangelistic in nature, these weekend conferences employ some of the best professional youth speakers today who offer both a great “introduction” to the Gospel message for new or younger teens, as well as deep and moving experiences of prayer and fellowship for even youth group regulars. The sacraments hold a place of
primacy with multiple opportunities for confession, Eucharistic Adoration and daily Mass.
Steubenville San Diego will take place July 26-28 on the campus of the University of San Diego (a Catholic University) in San Diego, California. Participants will be housed in dormitories on USD campus (or on neighboring San Diego State University campus with daily shuttle service to/from the conference events). Youth participants must be age 18 or younger and incoming high school freshman through just graduated seniors. The cost is $250 and includes retreat fees, rooms, meals, transportation, and a T-shirt. Contact Patti Phillips to request a registration form or for additional questions at 480-325-5375 x213 or [email protected].
