this same piping as 10". Please clarify the correct size. Answer: See revisions to Sheet M-19. Question 2: Please provide the structural and architectural drawings for the Sodium Hypochlorite feed

Question 3: Request clarification for specification SECTION 06270 HDPE CHEMICAL STORAGE TANKS (BIG TANKS). Specification describes tanks as thermoplastic HDPE, but references to ASTM D 3299, D 2563 and D 5421 are for FRP Glass Reinforced Plastic tanks. Other verbiage within the specification under 06720 2.02 DESIGN CRITERIA also refers to FRP material. Please clarify if HDPE or FRP is the required material of construction. If HDPE is required, please provide applicable ASTM requirements for manufacturing and quality control.

Answer: HDPE is required. Products shall be manufactured by Houston Tanks or equal. Question 4: Specification SECTION 06270, 1.02 E. requires tanks to be NSF/ANSI 61 listed for

drinking water service. Since these tanks are not being used for treatment of drinking water, propose deleting this requirement.

Answer: This requirement shall be met. Question 5: Request that if tanks required for SECTION 06270 are to be Fiberglass Reinforced

Plastic, that Edwards Fiberglass of Sedalia, Missouri and Design Tanks (formerly Raven Industries) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota be considered as approved manufacturers.

Answer: Only HDPE tanks are acceptable. Question 6: Owners Protective Liability Coverage section 3.4.3 states “The minimum OCP limits to be

provided by the Contractor (inclusive to any amounts provided by an Umbrella or Excess Policy are specified in Section 4.4”. Please provide us with section 4.4 in order to determine the Umbrella/Excess limits they are requiring.

Answer: The City is not requiring the owners Protective Liability Coverage.

Question 7: Business Auto Policy section 3.3.2 states “The minimum limits to be maintained by the

CONTRACTOR (inclusive of any amounts provided by an umbrella or Excess policy) are specified in Section 4.3 shall be per accident combined single limit for bodily injury liability and property damage liability.” Please provide us with section 4.3 in order to determine the requirements.

Answer: It refers Section 8.3, not 4.3. Question 8: Sheet M-6 shows a 1” PVC Potable Water line feeding the Vapex unit. Please clarify

where this line comes from on the yard piping plans. Answer: See revisions to Sheet C-13 and C-14. Question 9: Please provide an alternate model number for the Combination Emergency shower and

eyewash Haws Model 8309PCP. This part is obsolete and there are no replacement parts available.

Answer: See Specification Section 15400. The spec and drawings call for Model 8330 or approved

equal. Question 10: Please provide a manufacturer and model number for the 275 gallon double wall steel

supply day tank.

Answer: The product must meet the required specifications. Question 11: Generator shows fuel oil pumps on the day tank. Can you please provide model

numbers? Answer: The product must meet the required specifications. Question 12: Sheet M-10 Piping Schedule denotes Air piping as type 304 while spec section 15066

part 2.01 A call for 316. Please clarify which is correct. Answer: See revisions to Sheet M-10. Question 13: Please confirm that the valve described by Note 12 on Sheet M-11 is a Pinch Valve as

stated and not a Plug Valve. Answer: See revisions to Sheet M-11. Question 14: Air Piping to Oxic Tanks seems to be shown as 10” on M-19 and 12” on M-14. Please

clarify which is correct.

Answer: See revisions to Sheet M-19. Question 15: Please reference Sheet C-15. Line 1 – 20” DIP Force main and Line 7 – 18” DIP

Reclaimed Water lines are shown connecting to existing lines. Can those existing lines be shut down? If not please detail requirements for tie in.

Answer: The existing lines will not become active until after project completion. Connect to

locations as shown. Question 16: Please reference Sheet C-18. Line 27 – 8” PVC Plant Potable Water line is shown

connecting to an existing line. Can the existing line be shut down? If not please detail requirements for tie in.

Answer: This line can be taken out of service. Question 17: Specification Section 09750.1.01.A.1.b indicates that the Emergency Generator Building

is to receive the protective floor coating which includes floors, walls, and equipment pad surfaces. Are we to install the protective coating on only those existing surfaces that we impact during demolition / construction and the new surfaces to be constructed or are we to coat all of the existing floors, walls, and equipment pad surfaces in the Emergency Generator Building?

Answer: The protective coating shall be installed on only those existing surfaces that we impact

during demolition / construction and the new surfaces to be constructed. Question 18: Please reference Sheet M-35 & 1A.6. The truck loading bay on Sheet M-35 calls for a

FDOT Type “C” Concrete Drainage Inlet to be installed on the 12” drainage pipe (Gravity Sewer) coming from the Belt Filter Press. Building Section 1 on Sheet 1A.6 shows only the 12” pipe extending up to the top of slab. Please clarify if a concrete drainage inlet is required in the truck loading bay.

Answer: The drainage inlet is required per Sheet M-35.
