There have been some recent cases of COVID19 in Pakenham and I assure you that we continue to do everything possible to ensure the safety of the PCS community. The huge positive that we have got out of this is the independence of our children. Most of the PCS students continue to be happy and well-adjusted to the new ways of coming to school. Over the last two weeks it has been great to have all our students back onsite. We are back to our usual programs now and will have modified reports out at the beginning of Term Three. The big news of this week is that we have managed to rebook our senior camps. The Year Six camp is scheduled for the start of August and the Year Five camp will be in September. Both camps will be at the original venues. The students were very excited when we told them and Im sure you would have received the notices home. During Term One the PCS canteen had been running on Tuesdays for counter sales and Fridays for lunch orders. With the move to remote learning during Term Two and the restrictions we have come back to, we will not be reopening the canteen until Term Three. We look forward to getting this service back for Term Three. In order to get the food orders all completed and delivered, we will begin lunch orders in week two. The traffic flow around the school has been running fairly well. I have made inquiries about extending the green light on Duncan Drive so it can flow even better. I remind you to keep the bus zone clear and to adhere to the 2 minute parking zone at the front gate. Each morning and afternoon I am at the gate near the bike shed. It can get very dangerous on that part of the road and I ask parents to tell their children to cross the road at the crossing. We had three near misses this week and I would not like any of our students or families to be hit by a motor vehicle. We have word that the Victorian State School Spectacular will take place this year, without a live audience, and will be filmed for television broadcast at a later date. We also have a whole school production booked for October and are awaiting further information over the next few months as to how this will progress. The first day of Term three, Monday 13 th July is a whole school curriculum day. On this day we will be looking at different types of assessment and our mathematics program. School will resume for students on Tuesday 14 th July. We are all looking forward to Term Three and hope you have a great break.

From the Principal

It is amazing to think we are one week away from the midyear holidays. 2020 has sure been

a year like no other. There have been some recent cases of COVID19 in Pakenham and I

assure you that we continue to do everything possible to ensure the safety of the PCS community. The huge

positive that we have got out of this is the independence of our children. Most of the PCS students continue to

be happy and well-adjusted to the new ways of coming to school.

Over the last two weeks it has been great to have all our students back onsite. We are back to our usual

programs now and will have modified reports out at the beginning of Term Three.

The big news of this week is that we have managed to rebook our senior camps. The Year Six camp is scheduled

for the start of August and the Year Five camp will be in September. Both camps will be at the original venues.

The students were very excited when we told them and I’m sure you would have received the notices home.

During Term One the PCS canteen had been running on Tuesdays for counter sales and Fridays for lunch orders.

With the move to remote learning during Term Two and the restrictions we have come back to, we will not be

reopening the canteen until Term Three. We look forward to getting this service back for Term Three. In order

to get the food orders all completed and delivered, we will begin lunch orders in week two.

The traffic flow around the school has been running fairly well. I have made inquiries about extending the green

light on Duncan Drive so it can flow even better. I remind you to keep the bus zone clear and to adhere to the

2 minute parking zone at the front gate. Each morning and afternoon I am at the gate near the bike shed. It can

get very dangerous on that part of the road and I ask parents to tell their children to cross the road at the

crossing. We had three near misses this week and I would not like any of our students or families to be hit by a

motor vehicle.

We have word that the Victorian State School Spectacular will take place this year, without a live audience, and

will be filmed for television broadcast at a later date. We also have a whole school production booked for

October and are awaiting further information over the next few months as to how this will progress.

The first day of Term three, Monday 13th July is a whole school curriculum day. On this day we will be looking at

different types of assessment and our mathematics program. School will resume for students on Tuesday 14th

July.

We are all looking forward to Term Three and hope you have a great break.
