Title: METHOD OF PAINT APPLICATION
Scope. This method statement specifies process of paint coating applied on fabricated iron and steel articles. Surface preparation.
Substrate should be blast cleaned to Sa 2.5. Surface should be dry and free from contaminants. Site surface preparation operation resulting in exposed bare metal, shall be performed only when environmental humidity is not over 85% and ambient temperature is 10°to 45° and there shall be no moisture on the surface of substrate. After blasting and immediately prior to coating, the blasting dust shall be removed by air equipment of high pressure.
Paint System.Paint. 1st Coat Transozinc Silicate Solventborne 1.52 DFT 65µ - Grey / Flat 2nd Coat Transpoxy Master MIO HB 10.21 DFT 125µ- Silver grey / Matt 3rd Coat Transpoxy Finish 4.60 DFT 60µ- Transocean colour shades / GlossySystem. Two pack high solids modified epoxy primer coating formulated with Masterbond binder technology. Application Data first coat.Paint - Transozinc Silicate Solventborne 1.52 DFT 65µ - Grey / FlatSurface preparation to be checked for suitability and free from contaminants before start painting. Record – Blasting & Painting inspection Report. Paint to be applied by airless spray.Application data.Mixing ratio By volume, binder to zinc dust: 40 to 60
The zinc dust should be added gradually whilst stirring by means of mechanical mixer. Keep stirring until mixture is lump free. If necessary, remove coarse particles By sieving to avoid blockage of the spray equipment.

Title: METHOD OF PAINT APPLICATION
1) Damaged surface to be checked for extent of damage
2) Prepare damaged surface for painting by sanding by hand or by power tool.
1) Apply paint by Brush or roller to the prepared area to the sufficient coating thickness.
Health and safety
As a general rule, avoid skin- eye contact by wearing overalls, gloves, goggles, mask etc. Spillage on the skin should immediately be removed by through washing with lukewarm water and soap or a suitable industrial cleaner. Eyes should flushed with fresh water and medical attention sought immediately. Spraying should be carried out under well ventilated conditions. Avoid inhalation of solvent vapors and paint mist by wearing air mask.
