Course DescriptionThe goal of this program is to provide participants with a broad overview of the management of the pain patient. Emphasis will be placed on spine and other common painful conditions, medication management, interventional treatments, monitoring patients on opioids and the psychological assessment of chronic pain patients.
ObjectivesAt the conclusion of the CME activity, the participant should be able to:
• Describe the diagnosis and treatment of spine and other common painful conditions.
• Outline appropriate physical examination, diagnostic studies, and therapeutic treat-ments.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of medication management and safe opioid prescribing for the chronic patient.
Target AudienceInternists, family physicians, pain management physicians, physiatrists, rheumatologists, neurologists, physician assistants, residents, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and chiropractors.
