encouraged to privatize water utilities. This can result in high costs and affect the sustainable prosperity of the very people who can least afford to pay for water.

Foreign investment• Foreign investment is the purchase of assets in one country by individuals, or governments in

a different countryThose who invest in Canada see it as a way to help keep the economy completive and help the

sustainable prosperity, and to make good realasons with trading partnersWhile other people are concerned that it can cause sudden a violent changes in the economy.Ex in 1990 many investors put large amounts of money into the south Koran economy, which

made them the 11th largest economy in the world and was growing fast. But in 1997 the value of the east Asian currencies started to decline rapidly. Many investors started to lose faith in there economy which caused them to pull there investments rapidly causing a rapid destableizsen in there economy. Many of the companies there had to shut down. The government had to borrow $58 billion from the international monetary fund

Canadian investments in Kurdistan

• Foreign companies investing in Zagros, Kurdistan are an owned subsidary of western oil sands of Calgary. The companies main goal in this investment is to explore a 2120-square kilometer region of kurdistan.

• The Heritage Oil Corp in Calgary is also exploring in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
