Full-time Environmental Health Specialist to perform food safety and septic inspections and respond to environmental
health and public health nuisance complaints for local public health district. Job duties require response within the service area of Gaines, Yoakum, Dawson, Terry, Hockley, and Lynn
Counties. Hours Mon-Fri 8 am to 5 pm, some weekend work as needed. Position will be based in Gaines County during training.
Requirements: The ideal candidate will have some college credits in science or biology. College degree preferred. Must
be able to obtain a TCEQ Designative Representative License within 6 months of employment. 1 year job related experience in inspections or investigations preferred. Applicant must have strong computer skills, (Word, Excel, etc.) excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills. Must possess
excellent customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with the public, other SPPHD staff, municipal and county employees and elected officials. Bilingual preferred.
Must be able to lift and move over 50 lbs.
