About the WCT Junior final, by Sunny Hale, WCT Founder. This was an amazing and fast game with both teams tied until the very end of the 4th chukker. Leading up to this year’s final, Gillian

Johnston, the coach of the opposing team The Diamonds, had been negotiating to keep her team together after last year’s outstanding performance and championship win, but this team The Sapphires was able to step up and take the victory over an outstanding Diamonds team and coaching staff including all the fathers. After coach Gillian John-ston’s request to keep her defending champions team together for another year, she asked coach Sunny: “well, what the heck is your team then?” Sunny’s reply…”Riley Ganzi, Mia Astrada and a can of whooopass.”This game was an outstanding display of the future of women’s polo and where it can go with the level of polo these girls can play. To be able to play together this young will change everything. The Diamonds were Hope Arellano, Malia Bryan, Mia Cambiaso and Olivia Merlos.
