For Your SafetyBefore operating a lift truck, an operator must:• Be trained and authorized• Read and understand the operator’s manual• Not operate a faulty lift truck• Not repair a lift truck unless trained and
authorized• Have the overhead guard and load
backrest extension in place
During operation, a lift truck operator must:• Wear a seat belt• Keep entire body inside truck cab• Never carry passengers or lift people• Keep truck away from people and
obstructions• Travel with lift mechanism as low as
possible and tilted back
To park a lift truck, an operator must:• Completely lower forks or attachments• Shift into neutral• Turn key off• Set parking brake
Contact your Clark dealer for operator training information.

SPECIFICATIONS
Clark CMP 20/30 Series pneumatic tire trucks aredesigned for durability and ease of operation. Theyare ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications inmanufacturing, warehousing and distributionoperations. They are equipped with powershifttransaxles and internally balanced engines for easeof use and smooth operation. They are available withgasoline and LPG fueled engines and a high level ofstandard features.
Operator Control & ComfortThe CMP 20/30 Series incorporate designs whichadd productivity through improved operator controland comfort.
Isolated operator cell supported on rubber mountsreduces vibration and sound transmission to theoperator seat and controls. Low in-frame steps, 17.1in. (435 mm) high, enable easy access to theoperator compartment. A rubber floor mat makesfooting secure. Cowl-mounted hydraulic controllevers provide short reach and low effort that enableprecise load control. Electric directional control leverenables “fingertip” operation of the powershifttransaxle. Tilt steering wheel can be secured at anyposition within its range of travel. Two-pedal inch-brake system provides excellent control andcomfort; left pedal is for inch and brake operation, right pedal for brake only.
CLARK safety seat system provides protection in theevent of a lateral overturn. The system, proveneffective, includes lateral restraints, non-cinchingseat belt with retractor and latching seat deck.Separate back and seat cushions are durable andcomfortable; seat has 6 inches (152mm) of front-to-back travel to accommodate small and largeoperators. Rear-hinged clamshell hood with gascylinder assist makes access for daily inspectionconvenient. The floor plate is removable in secondswithout tools.
High visibility upright, overhead guard and loadbackrest designs improve operator vision duringtravel and stacking operations.
Operator display monitor includes: Indicator lightsfor engine oil pressure, battery charge, transmissiontemperature, park brake “on,” low LPG, turn signalindicators and panel test light. Five digit hour meterand analog engine temperature gauge and fuelgauge (gasoline models) are provided on the display.
EngineMitsubishi 4G64, 2.4 liter (143 cid) gasoline/LPG4-cylinder industrial engine. Features include internaldynamic balancers, overhead camshaft, cast irondeep skirt block with five main bearings and velocitygovernor. Hydraulic valve lifters and electronicignition help maintain optimal emissions and requireno periodic maintenance. Cross flow cylinder headdesign contributes to high power output andexcellent fuel efficiency.
Engine Accessories/CapacitiesElectrical systems are 12 volt, negative ground, with50 amp alternator with integral regulator. Lowmaintenance battery is rated at 500 cold crankingamps at 0°F (-18 °C). LPG systems are IMPCO withbrackets for 33.5 lb. (15.2 kg) tanks. Heavy-dutyengine air cleaner is easily serviced. An external airintake with rain cap is provided.
Cooling system capacity is 6.7 quarts (6.3 L); engineoil capacity with filter is 4.0 quarts (4.2 L). Fuel tankson gasoline models are 9.8 gals. (37 L).
TransaxleClark TA-18 single-speed powershift transaxle is asingle unitized driveline designed for reliability undermaximum load and severe operating conditions. Thetransaxle features a high ratio torque converter forresponsive performance and fuel efficient operation. An oil cooler located in the engine radiator extendstransaxle life.
Electric shift control provides consistent shiftoperation; linkage wear and adjustment areeliminated. Full-floating drive axle design addsdurability as only torsional forces, not truck loads, are transmitted through the axle shafts. Transaxleclutch packs incorporate hydraulic modulation and
cushioning systems to smooth engagement andprotect internal components under rapid directionreversals. Highly accessible transaxle control andgear drive for hydraulic pump and spin-on full-flowlubricant filter are easily serviced.
BrakesHydraulic operated service brakes actuate self-adjusting drum and shoe assemblies at the drivewheels. Brake backing plates and shoes are castiron for added strength and durability. Brakes can beactuated from either left or right foot pedals; left footpedal also provides inching control. Parking brake isleft hand operated and operator adjustable. Brakesystem reservoir is easily accessed on the frontcowl.
SteeringHeavy fabricated steer axle incorporates an integraldouble-acting steer cylinder providing equal steeringrate in both directions. Single-piece steer knucklessupported by tapered roller bearings provide highdurability with low maintenance requirements. Fullhydrostatic operation, reduces mechanical links andeliminates kick-back. The axle is mounted in “silentblock” cushion mounts that absorb shock improvingcomfort; they require no maintenance.
Hydraulic SystemHydraulic system was developed by Clarkexclusively for lift truck applications. The systemimproves performance, reduces energy loss, isadaptable to specific requirements and is easilyserviceable.
A single hydraulic pump with integral steering priorityvalve is transmission driven, providing low noise andseparation from engine heat. Full-flow filter is locatedin the hydraulic tank providing continuous filtration.Hydraulic tank cover incorporates return line fittings, dipstick and breather filter. Adjustable hydraulicvalve eliminates unnecessary oil flow, energy lossand heat generation.
Integral-with-frame hydraulic tank dissipateshydraulic oil heat. Fluid capacity: 10.0 U.S.gallons(38 L).
Upright AssemblyHigh visibility CLARK designed uprights are availablein two stage, two stage full free lift and triple stagefull free lift designs and are configured to providemaximum forward visibility. Interlocking rail/nestedroller upright design utilizes specially rolled inner railand channel section outer rails for high strengthunder upright load conditions and greater toleranceto unbalanced load conditions. Uprights incorporatenegative raildrop feature that enables upright rollersto be easily accessed for adjustment.
Tilt cylinders incorporate spherical bushings at theirmounting points to extend seal life by maintainingaxial cylinder loads. Hydraulic counterbalance valveprevents improper tilt cylinder operation, flowlimiting valves protect against rapid carriage descentin the event of a line failure and a lowering controlregulates lowering speeds. ITA Class II and III hooktype carriages incorporate six main rollers to preventbinding when handling unbalanced loads. Two sidethrust rollers resists deflection due to off centerloads. Forks are upset forged and have adjustablefork locks; forks are retained by the load backrestextension.
Additional Features/Available EquipmentColor is high visibility Clark Green with matte blackoperator cell and upright. Wheels are bright white.Operator Manual is permanently attached to truck.Standard features include internal hosing with 4”(1040 mm) sideshifter, low fuel warning light on LPG,48 in. (1200mm) high load backrest, recessed towpin, headlights, brake lights, tailights and turnsignals. Clark’s Employer’s Guide to MaterialHandling Safety and operator safety video areprovided with truck.
Available equipment includes rear work light, strobelight, audible reverse alarm, mirrors, U.L. Type LPSconstruction, operator cab, suspension seat, dualdrive, solid tires and dual fuel. Contact a Clarkrepresentative for additional information.
