DGP felicitates JAKFAS artists STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Private Schools Association (PSA) Jammu expressed anguish over the callous attitude of the State Government for the fixation of fee of unaided private schools as these educational institutions are authorised by the Fee Fixation Committee to enhance fee at 8 per cent for three years whose base is kept August 2014. In this connection a meet- ing of Private Schools Association was held here on Sunday under the chair- manship of Rameshwar Mengi, Vice President J&K PSA. The members condemned the step motherly treatment given by the Director School Education Jammu for granting recognition to number of schools upto Class 8th after his retire- ment by the pick and choose method for the interest best known to the concerned offi- cials although 324 files as per circular number 04- DSEJ of 2018 dated February 9, 2018, after ful- filling all the conditions and norms are gathering dust in the department. General Secretary of the Association, Ajay Gupta appealed to all the stake holders not to enhance the tuition fee more than eight per cent for the academic session 2018-19 till the Committee for Fee Fixation does not come out with a clear cut policy for the unaided private schools. STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: BJP Vice President, Yudhvir Sethi on Sunday said that victory of BJP and its allies in North- East reflects people's mood all over the country. He said that this is a victory of democracy over violence unleashed by Communists in places like Kerala and other states which now stands nailed. Plantation drive carried out Geetanjali qualifies NET STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Geetanjali has qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) in Hindi, the result of which was declared by University Grants Commission (UGC) recently. STATE TIMES NEWS SRINAGAR: Amid indefinite boycott call of developmental works and tendering process, Central Contractors Coordination Committee (J&K CCCC)on Sunday staged protest at Lal Chowk Srinagar against the govern- ment's failure to release their bills which are pending with various departments. Led by General Secretary J&KCCCC, Farooq Ahmad Dar, scores of contractors assembled at Lal Chowk Park here and raised slogans in support of their demands. The contractors were demanding clearance of bills which they claimed were pend- ing with the government. "Till the government clears the pending bills, we will boy- cott all tenders and develop- mental projects”, Farooq Ahmad Dar, JKCCCC General Secretary said, adding that their repeated pleas to the authorities con- cerned in this behalf had fall- en on deaf ears. He said most of the contractors had taken loans even from private per- sons as well as financial insti- tutions with hefty interest rates but with dilly dallying approach of the government in clearing their pending dues, they are forced to pay the interests unnecessarily. The contractors said they have decided not to carry any devel- opment works from February 27 until the pending bills are cleared. Tasaduk Hussain Laway, M. Valley contractors seek clearance of pending dues STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Hindustan Shiv Sena (HSS) urged upon the government to immediately deport the Rohingyas from Jammu and its adjoining areas claiming that they are not only security threat but also inimical to the demography and the communal harmony of the region. In the meeting held here on Sunday, State President HSS, Vikrant Kapoor said the pres- ent government is showing laxity in deporta- tion of Rohingyas by not taking the cogni- sance of the alarming situation which could explode and flare up tension in the 'city of tem- ples'. He also expressed concern over the illegally built slums of these Rohingyas and Bangladeshis at some of the congested colonies in Jammu city and also the issue of giving PRCs, Aadhaar cards, ration cards, free water and electric connections besides admissions of their children in government schools. Kapoor said that Rohingyas having been involved in various criminal activities to flare up communal tension in Jammu city thus instigating the people to come on the roads to lodge their protest. Kapoor extended full support to the call given by the various organizations with regard to the deportation of Rohingyas from Jammu with immediate effect. Rohingyas threat to communal harmony: Vikrant Woman pilgrim dies in Katra STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: A 58-year-old woman pilgrim died of cardiac arrest after paying obeisance at the Shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi in Reasi District, a police official said on Sunday. Ramakashi Devi, a resident of Rampur in Bihar, complained of chest pain and uneasiness late last night and was taken to a dispensary near the Shrine by her family members, he said. After initial treatment, she was referred to the Community Health Centre in Katra - the Base Camp for pilgrims headed to the shrine - but was declared brought dead by doctors there, the official said. The body will be handed over to her family after completion of legal formalities on Sunday, the official said. Medium danger avalanche warning issued STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: On the basis of infor- mation received from SASE, Medium danger avalanche warning has been issued for Baramulla, Gulmarg, Furkian- Z Gali, Kupwara-Chowkibal- Tangdhar, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Kargil, Leh and Gurez Sector. Led by General SecretaryJ&KCCCC, Farooq AhmadDar, scores of contractorsassembled at Lal Chowk Parkhere and raised slogans insupport of their demands.

The contractors weredemanding clearance of billswhich they claimed were pend-ing with the government.

Valley contractors seek clearance of pending dues

STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: Hindustan Shiv Sena (HSS) urgedupon the government to immediately deportthe Rohingyas from Jammu and its adjoiningareas claiming that they are not only securitythreat but also inimical to the demographyand the communal harmony of the region.

In the meeting held here on Sunday, StatePresident HSS, Vikrant Kapoor said the pres-ent government is showing laxity in deporta-tion of Rohingyas by not taking the cogni-sance of the alarming situation which couldexplode and flare up tension in the 'city of tem-ples'.

He also expressed concern over the illegally

built slums of these Rohingyas andBangladeshis at some of the congestedcolonies in Jammu city and also the issue ofgiving PRCs, Aadhaar cards, ration cards,free water and electric connections besidesadmissions of their children in governmentschools. Kapoor said that Rohingyas havingbeen involved in various criminal activities toflare up communal tension in Jammu citythus instigating the people to come on theroads to lodge their protest.

Kapoor extended full support to the callgiven by the various organizations with regardto the deportation of Rohingyas from Jammuwith immediate effect.

Ramakashi Devi, a resident ofRampur in Bihar, complained ofchest pain and uneasiness latelast night and was taken to adispensary near the Shrine byher family members, he said.

After initial treatment, shewas referred to the CommunityHealth Centre in Katra - theBase Camp for pilgrims headedto the shrine - but was declaredbrought dead by doctors there,the official said. The body will behanded over to her family aftercompletion of legal formalitieson Sunday, the official said.
