Commissioner Lackey clari-fied the County receives a per-centage of reimbursement for projects like the Courthouse restoration, but though the percentage changed with the budget to appear smaller, the amount originally guaranteed the County will remain the same. A motion to approve the Amended Agreement passed. 16 A motion to approve the
payment of bills passed. 17 Comments: Commissioner
Whitlock thanked everyone for coming, and asked residents to stay safe and be nice. He want-ed to dispel the myth that if the Commissioners are griped at, they will not do their job. Commissioner Self thanked attendees, hopes for rain, and appreciates patience as they work on the roads. Commis-sioner Magness asked every-one to stay safe. Commissioner Lackey said they will work to make the budget best for ev-eryone. He noted FM 897 is expected to open in the third week in August. He cautioned that HWY 82 from Paris is smooth and easy to speed on. Judge Moore recognized Polly Gilbert, former County Clerk, who passed away recently. He noted TxDOT will close a sec-tion of FM 1753 on August 3,
north of Savoy, for bridge re-pair. Judge Moore commented he doesn’t want to cause any grief about the budget. Meeting adjourned at 10:22

Commissioners Governor Abbott Announces Film Friendly Texas Designation For The City Of Bonham
July 23, 2020 | Bonham, Texas
AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today announced that the City of Bonham, having completed the multi-step training and certifica-tion process, has been des-ignated a Film Friendly Texas community by the Texas Film Commission, which helps to grow local jobs and local economies by promoting the Lone Star State as the premier desti-
nation for film, television, commercial, animation, vi-sual effects and video game production. “I congratulate the City
of Bonham on earning the Film Friendly Texas des-ignation,” said Governor Abbott. “As our focus is on safely and strategically reopening and revitaliz-ing all aspects of the Lone Star State—work, school, entertainment and cul-ture—Texas is committed to working alongside our com-
munities to ensure they have the knowledge and tools needed. Through the Film Friendly Texas training and certification process, com-munities large and small are readied to help match local businesses with production-related needs, creating jobs for Texas-based crew mem-bers and local residents as well as spurring on-site spending at local small busi-nesses. And I am proud of all that the Texas Film Com-mission has accomplished in helping communities like Bonham begin to open their economy.”The City of Bonham joins
more than 140 Film Friend-ly Texas communities that receive ongoing train-ing and guidance from the Texas Film Commission on media industry standards, best practices and how to ef-fectively accommodate on-location filming activity in their community. The Texas Film Commis-
sion in the Office of the Governor’s Economic De-velopment and Tourism Division has attracted $1.5 billion in local spending and created more than 154,000 production jobs across the state from 2007 to 2019.As media production opens
in Texas, compliance with state and local safety proto-cols is key to keeping crews and communities safe. More information on safety guide-lines and resources can be found at gov.texas.gov/film/coronavirus.
