Page 1/4 Program Name: Greater Mekong Sub-region International Exchange Program (GM-Sub) Organizer: Faculty of Liberal Arts and Management Science, Kasetsart University Campus: Chalermphrakiat Sakhonakorn Province Campus Student Eligibility: (Group A) KU student who wishes to gain experience in the field of Hospitality and Tourism Industry and Thai culture for a period of one academic term (5 months). (Group B) students from the institutions that have an exchange agreement with Kasetsart University who intend to study at Kasetsart University Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon Province Campus (KU CSC) for a period of one academic term (5 months). Applicants must meet all requirement listed below. (1) Applicant must be full-time students, enrolled in the second to fourth year in the field of Hospitality and Tourism Management or other field related in their home universities at the time of enrollment. (2) Applicant must have a definite plan and purpose to study in the program. They must also have a strong will to devote themselves to the studies in the program. (3) Applicant must have a good command of the English language to understand class instructions in English. (4) Applicant must be qualified for the Student Visa (Non-Immigrant Visa-ED) in order to enter and stay in Thailand Learning Objectives: This program aims to provide students from home institutions in Asia Pacific region with an opportunity to in-depth explore the Greater Mekong Sub Region’s Hospitality and Tourism Industry in one of the world class tourism oriented countries, Thailand. as well as a study visit to UNESCO’s World Heritage sites in Thailand’s neighboring countries (Cambodia and Laos PDR). There is no restriction as to the student’s major at his/her home institution.

Other: Accommodation:

KU CSC will arrange your accommodation. (Students, who choose not to live in the accommodation which is arranged by KU CSC, have to arrange housing by themselves after their arrival at Sakon Nakhon. The monthly rent for an apartment in Sakon Nakhon is from 3,500 THB to 5,000 THB which will be required as a deposit and nonrefundable.

National Health Insurance All students are required to join the National Health Insurance, which costs 1,000 THB per month. This insurance covers approximately 70% of charges for medical care and hospitalization.

Means and Criteria of Assessment :

Depending on each course modules, student will be well informed prior to the commencement of the class in KU grading system. Like others international courses provided at KU, there will be various means of grading, comprising of personal assignment, group presentation, class discussion examination.
