A probable cause statement was filed seeking charges of un- lawful use of drugs, bribery of a public servant, and deliv- ery, possession or attempt to bring a controlled substance into jail. March 20 A deputy assisted a Houston Police Department officer in recovering sto- len items on Piney Drive, Houston, and Elk Creek Drive, Solo. March 22 A property dispute was handled on Highway U, Cabool. A call was received about a theft on Berry Road, Cabool. It was determined no theft occurred. A theft was reported on Fisher Drive, Houston. Investigation revealed it to be a civil matter. March 25 A woman on Highway H, Elk Creek, reported she had left her purse on her car and it had fallen off somewhere on Highway 17. Her purse was located and returned to her. March 27 Deputies were dispatched to Highway 17 and Miller Road to assist Missouri State Highway Patrol with a vehi- cle accident. A deputy attempted to lo- cate a person on Highway C, Licking, for the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department. A deputy helped search for a vehicle that was involved in a pursuit by Cabool Police Department. The area around Panther Creek Road and AD Highway was checked, but the vehicle was not found. A prowler call was checked out on Morton Road, Houston. A Houston man reported seven tires had been dumped on his property on Ridge Road. March 28 Bob Allen Hamby, 57, Licking, was cited for animal abuse by failing to maintain after a report was received about dogs running loose on Shaffer Road. A woman reported a break-in at a house on Sackett Road, Licking. A peace disturbance was reported on Shaffer Road, Licking. A woman was given a verbal warning. March 29 Littering was report on Country Club Lane, Houston. A report was received about a woman with blood on her face walking down the road on Oakhill Drive, Houston. The woman was lo- cated and said she had fallen and cut her head. She refused medical attention or a cour- tesy ride. A prisoner was transport- ed from Mtn. Grove Police Department. March 30 A search of one wing of Texas County Jail turned up a plastic bag containing a small amount of a green leafy substance. An investigation is ongoing. March 31 Two cast iron benches were reported stolen from the veterans’ memorial at Long Hollow Cemetery, Plato. A Licking man reported a hunting blind and turkey de- coys had been stolen from his property on Iron Mine Road. A property dispute was re- ported on Highway 32, Roby, involving a vehicle. It was determined to be a civil mat- ter. A prowler report was checked out on Beeler Road. An attempt was made to check the wellbeing of a person on Orchard Street, Houston. A prisoner was transport- ed from a correctional facility in Fulton and one was trans- ported from Laclede County Jail, Lebanon. A prowler report was checked out on Highway H, Elk Creek. April 1 Sheep were reported out on Ben Davis Road. The animals’ owner was given a warning. A woman on Highway AM, Mtn. Grove, reported being harassed. She reported receiving text messages and also having a person pull into her driveway and not leave. A prisoner was transport- ed from Howell County Jail, West Plains. Three prisoners were transported from the correc- tional facility in Licking. A report was received from the United States Postal Service Office of the Inspector General concern- ing missing funds from the Summersville Post Office. A probable cause statement was being sent to the prosecut- ing attorney seeking charges against a former employee of the post office. April 2 A deputy was dispatched to a Highway M, Cabool, residence on a call of a fight in progress. Witnesses at the scene said the fight had been between two males. A vehi- cle was damaged during the fight. One person was taken into custody on an outstand- ing warrant. A Raymondville woman reported her purse had been stolen or lost from her ve- hicle somewhere in Licking and Houston. The department assisted the Department of Family Services Children’s Division with a hotline investigation of possible child abuse on Date Drive, Summersville. The investigation is ongoing. Trespassing was reported on Gentry Lane, Plato, where a man allegedly placed trash in the driveway and then set it afire. April 3 Bevera L. Chestine, 36, Plato, was cited for domestic assault-third degree follow- ing a domestic assault call received on Highway AW, Plato. Contact was made with an Elk Creek woman who had reported a person was sending messages to her and would not stop. The person was contacted and said he quit once she told him she called law enforcement. Please see Page 15

March 29Littering was report on

Country Club Lane, Houston.

A report was received about a woman with blood on her face walking down the road on Oakhill Drive, Houston. The woman was lo-cated and said she had fallen and cut her head. She refused medical attention or a cour-tesy ride.

A prisoner was transport-ed from Mtn. Grove Police Department.

March 30A search of one wing of

Texas County Jail turned up a plastic bag containing a small amount of a green leafy substance. An investigation is ongoing.

March 31Two cast iron benches

were reported stolen from the veterans’ memorial at Long Hollow Cemetery, Plato.

A Licking man reported a hunting blind and turkey de-coys had been stolen from his property on Iron Mine Road.

A property dispute was re-ported on Highway 32, Roby, involving a vehicle. It was determined to be a civil mat-ter.

A prowler report was checked out on Beeler Road.

An attempt was made to check the wellbeing of a person on Orchard Street, Houston.

A prisoner was transport-ed from a correctional facility in Fulton and one was trans-ported from Laclede County Jail, Lebanon.

A prowler report was checked out on Highway H, Elk Creek.

April 1Sheep were reported out

on Ben Davis Road. The animals’ owner was given a warning.

A woman on Highway AM, Mtn. Grove, reported being harassed. She reported receiving text messages and also having a person pull into her driveway and not leave.

A prisoner was transport-ed from Howell County Jail,

West Plains.Three prisoners were

transported from the correc-tional facility in Licking.

A report was received from the United States Postal Service Office of the Inspector General concern-ing missing funds from the Summersville Post Office. A probable cause statement was being sent to the prosecut-ing attorney seeking charges against a former employee of the post office.

April 2A deputy was dispatched

to a Highway M, Cabool, residence on a call of a fight in progress. Witnesses at the scene said the fight had been between two males. A vehi-cle was damaged during the fight. One person was taken into custody on an outstand-ing warrant.

A Raymondville woman reported her purse had been stolen or lost from her ve-hicle somewhere in Licking and Houston.

The department assisted the Department of Family Services Children’s Division with a hotline investigation of possible child abuse on Date Drive, Summersville. The investigation is ongoing.

Trespassing was reported on Gentry Lane, Plato, where a man allegedly placed trash in the driveway and then set it afire.

April 3Bevera L. Chestine, 36,

Plato, was cited for domestic assault-third degree follow-ing a domestic assault call received on Highway AW, Plato.

Contact was made with an Elk Creek woman who had reported a person was sending messages to her and would not stop. The person was contacted and said he quit once she told him she called law enforcement.
