//12 the sound How should a day at the fair be? Fun, exiting, full of deep-fried food and of course, scones. For us, it didn’t turn out quite like that. We went to the fair to do an article about it for the school newspaper. Everything was great. We went on rides; we ate greasy food and took pictures. One of our friends was playing around jumping from one concrete bench to another and he hit his head on a metal pole sticking out of one of the tents. He started bleeding badly from his head. We all freaked out. I ran for help. I ran until I found a cop, Who sent me to the First aid building. I went there, and told them what had happen and a lady asked me where my friend was and I told her that in front of one of the scone booths. I thought that after I said that they would grab their stuff and run. I was wrong. None of the people in the room moved, instead the same lady said, “Where is he exactly at?” I told her again, and her answer was, “We don’t have the supplies to help you.”, then she sent me to the scone booth for help. I couldn’t believe that she was sending me to the scone booth, what were they going to do for me? She was the paramedic, but she seemed to have no interest in doing something for me or my friend that was currently bleeding all over the place. I ran all the way across the fair grounds, back to the scone booth. Ironically, the people in the scone booth helped us when the paramedics couldn’t. They sent us directly to the firehouse where two paramedics took care of us. We were interviewed about the accident, and told that we could go home. I think we all came home that night with a little more than dizzy heads and full stomachs. We learned a lot from this experience, one thing that we will never forget is that you shouldn’t jump from bench to bench, because if you get hurt the para- medics won’t help.
