1. EVENT DETAILS
■EVENT TITLE
THE 2018 FISU WORLD UNIVERSITY KARATE CHAMPIONSHIN KOBE, JAPAN
■COMPETITION DATE
July 18th ~ 22nd, 2018 (Competition day July 19th – 22nd, 2018)
■COMPETITION CATEGORIES & MODALITIES:
Program: Each country is authorized to enter a maximum of twenty-nine (29) competitors (sixteen (16) men and thirteen (13) women) and five (5) officials.
Each athlete and coach must be able to provide evidence of WKF membership.
1.1 - KATA
For men and women:
- Individual events: one (1) competitor per country
- Team events: three (3) competitors per country
1.2 - KUMITE
I. Individual events:
Individual events: a maximum of one (1) competitor in each category
- Men: bouts duration: three (3) minutes
-60kg, -67 kg, -75 kg, -84 kg, +84 kg
- Women: bouts duration: two (2) minutes
-50kg, -55kg, -61kg, -68kg, +68kg
II. Team events
- Men: a team comprises seven (7) members with five (5) competing in a round.
- Women: a team comprises four (4) members with three (3) competing in a round.
*No Video Review is applied.

2. IMMIGRATION & VISA REQUIREMENTS
Japan has visa-exemption agreement with 67 countries. A citizen of any of these countries who intends to stay in Japan no longer than that period specified in the relevant agreement requires no visa. For more information, contact your nearest Japanese embassy or consulate. The website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan included a list of Japanese embassies and consulates. Please make sure to send email both following addresses to [email protected] (Ms. Noguchi) and [email protected] (OC Team).

5. Rule: WKF rules
The Karate competitions shall be organised in accordance with the current World
Karate Federation (WKF) rules. In case of disagreement in the interpretation of these
rules, the English text shall be regarded as authoritative.
