Why It is requiredThe existing process of viewing images was highly dependent on its manual transport. The process was quite lengthy, taking more than 06 hours, on an average to be reviewed and report. This caused;

Delayed Diagnosis

Delayed Patient Management

We cannot save films for longer period,

These images are not accessible across the hospital, physician cannot revisit the images unless it is printed again even if it is required for study purpose. And this requires additional dependency on radiographer to facilitate the physician everytime.

Where we can Improve

On computer desk, physician can re-visit the images on the desk without radiographer dependency.

Transportation of film is taking long time… it can be deduced completely.

Similar facility should be extended at Outpatient clinics

What is PACS

Its consists of three modules

Archiving System – To Archive the films

OM Communication System – To provide worklist on modalities for radiographers.

Web based viewer – To view the images on user desktops

In 2014 Q4, we completed our testing and analyzing phase.

Phase I- Integration with CR/Xrays – Q1 2015
