IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION FORCUSTOMERS AND PERSONS PERFORMING

MAINTENANCE

The “Blue Book” provides information concerning spare parts for

refuse trucks manufactured by McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, Inc., as

well as for refuse trucks manufactured by other original equipment

manufacturers.

In performing maintenance on your refuse truck, you should carefully

review and thoroughly understand the recommended and required

maintenance procedures in any manuals provided by the original

manufacturer of your refuse truck, including, but not limited to, parts books,

owner manuals, operator’s manuals, maintenance manuals, and/or service

manuals. Such publications should be carefully checked for the original

equipment manufacturer’s recommended and required maintenance

procedures and instructions as well as all applicable DANGER, CAUTION,

AND WARNING NOTICES. For example, if you are going to perform

maintenance on a refuse truck manufactured by McNeilus Truck and

Manufacturing, Inc., be sure to review the appropriate manuals for your

refuse truck. Similarly, you should check the manuals supplied by the

original equipment manufacturer for any other brand of refuse truck on

which you are going to perform maintenance or service.

In addition to manufacturer-supplied manuals or publications, you

should also review and thoroughly understand all procedures, including but

not limited to, safety procedures, required by the United States Occupational

Safety and Health Administration (O.S.H.A.) and those of any other

governmental regulatory body that may pertain to the work that you are

intending to perform.
