What separates MedSchoolCoach from the rest?
• We do not have physician “front men”: If you are reading this, you may have already come across several other companies that offer
similar services. Many of these services have physicians as a “front man.” The doctor may provide a cursory glimpse of your application, but the majority of the advising is done by someone with no experience in medicine. We take the opposite approach – at MedSchoolCoach, no one but a physician will help you through the entire process.
• Experience: You’ll find many companies around the Internet. The vast majority of these have been in existence for less than a few years. MedSchoolCoach was founded in 2007 and since has helped over 3500 students through the application process. In fact, MedSchoolCoach is the only consulting company AMSA, the world’s largest premedical organization, recommends to its students.
• Our advisors have experience on the admissions committees of highly selective schools: We have been involved in the meetings to decide who gets admitted and who gets rejected. We have read hundreds of personal statements and know which ones are good and which ones are not. We’ve also interviewed for our alma maters, so we know the exact questions you would be asked on your interview and how you will be evaluated.
• Our services are highly personalized: We work with only a handful of students every year through our Gold Package so that a senior advisor can provide you the help you need through every step. For re-‐applicants, we provide in-‐depth guidance. Second time applicants often are at a loss of how to improve their application. After work with us, you will see just how much your first round application was lacking. We will retool the entire application into one that can be accepted into medical schools.
• Our students love working with us: We have a great track record of customer satisfaction. We are not perfect – no one is – but we have a great track record of satisfied clients. In fact, 96% of our clients say they would recommend us to a friend.
• Our costs are reasonable: You will likely invest over $200,000 into the education itself. Your application costs will often top $10,000 just for submitting applications and traveling to interviews. There is no doubt medical school is an expensive proposition. However, reapplying will be more expensive. The cost of our services to help you get into medical school is a drop in the bucket compared to your overall expenses. We encourage you to look at other companies and compare their prices to ours. You’ll be surprised at the value you get from MedSchoolCoach!
• Care: There is nothing we can stress more than this. Our advisors truly care about our student’s success. We go the extra mile to make sure we do the best for each and every one of our students. Our track record proves it and we hope you are next!
Who We Are
MedSchoolCoach is team of physicians who help you gain an edge in the medical school admissions process. We have been helping students through the most competitive admissions processes since 2007. Thus far, we have worked with over 3500 students in the application process. Compare that number to many of our competitors who just started helping students last year! At MedSchoolCoach, we are focused on admission into medical schools only. We differ from many other companies in this regard. We do not do business school, law school or any other graduate school consulting. Our focus and exclusive strength is on medical school. This includes not only the most competitive schools, such as Johns Hopkins, Stanford and Harvard, but also state schools, osteopathic (DO) schools and international MD schools. Whether your goal is to go to Harvard or to just become a doctor anyway possible, we are dedicated to helping you achieve it. Our advisors have all graduated from the top medical schools across the country. Combined, our network of advisors has over 43 degrees from the top 30 universities in the country. Our experience as applicants, students, alumni and admissions committee members of these top schools gives us a unique perspective on the medicals school admissions process. In the simplest terms, we know what it takes to be admitted to medical school.
Why You Need Us
The competition to get into the medical school is becoming fiercer every year. Between 2007-‐2011, less than 50% of those who applied to medical schools were accepted anywhere. For top schools, the acceptance rates hover below 5%. Getting into medical school is a matter of knowing the ins and outs of the application process, early planning and a strategic application. What separates the students who get in from those who are left out is not just grades and MCAT scores, but the personal statement, secondary essays and the interview. We help our applicants stand out in the eyes of admissions committees. As a pre-‐med, you have worked for years to put together the best possible grades, extracurricular activities and MCAT score for your application. Now take the final steps and let us help you get in.
What We Do
As part of the packages, we help the applicant and their family through every single step of the process. Our Gold Package even includes unlimited general advising, essay editing and interview preparation. Our general approach includes helping each student create an application that separates them from other applicants. We first set up a meeting with the student and his or her family to understand what their goals are for the application, including what schools they might want to attend and what their future career plans may be. We take this information and develop a list of schools that should be targeted and strategies for MD schools, as well as possibly DO schools and overseas schools. We then attack the personal statement. From before you type your first word to until your essay is ready for submission, your advisor will work with you for as long as you need. We provide much more than just a grammar and spelling check. We break down your essay content word for word and dig deep into your paragraphs for meaning. We help you craft an essay that is original and creative, while showing a genuine interest in medicine. By the end of our work with you, your essay is will stand out amongst your peers. From there, we shift to individual supplemental essays. We use our knowledge of schools to make your secondary essays show that you are genuinely interested in the school. Finally, we prepare you for the interview. We have years of experience conducting these interviews and will use our insider knowledge to help you prepare.
There are no guarantees in the medical school admissions process, however, with our help your application will be as perfect as it can be.

Success Stories (client names and school names are protected – many more are available!)
• ST was a second time applicant. Her statistics were borderline – 3.23 GPA and 28 MCAT. On her first application cycle she thought she would get into her state school, but did not even receive an interview. In total, she applied to 10 schools and received no interviews. After working with MedSchoolCoach, she completely reworked her personal statement, secondary essays and application strategy. During her second application cycle she was interviewed at 6 schools and was accepted at 3 US medical schools. The differences in her application included a new essay, AMCAS activity section and one extra year of research.
• MM was a third time applicant. She graduated from a prestigious college with a low GPA 3.0 but had a decent MCAT score of 30. After working with MedSchoolCoach, we were able to come up with a new admissions strategy including plans for research during the interview season. We spent many hours perfecting her interview skills in preparation for the season. She was eventually accepted into her state’s MD school!
• WB was a first time applicant with a good GPA of 3.75 but a relatively poor MCAT score of 23. He did not want to retake the MCAT and was determined to get into medical school this year. He hired MedSchoolCoach and together we were able to put together an application that was accepted to one of the top DO schools in the country.
• AT was a second time applicant. His GPA was excellent (4.0), but his MCAT score was only a 27. His first application cycle he received only
one interview and was eventually placed on the waitlist. MedSchoolCoach worked with AT through his second application process. We were able to critically evaluate his weaknesses and ask him to “fill the gaps” in his application during his year off. We also reevaluated his school list, which the first time included the wrong schools for him. His personal statement needed a complete overhaul, as did his activities section. With those simple changes, he received 9 interviews the following year. After a lot of interview preparation, he was ready and was eventually accepted to 3 schools including a top 25 US MD school.
• KM was a first time applicant with incredible numbers. A 3.9 GPA and a 35 on the MCAT, her goal was to get into the top schools in the country. Unfortunately, the large state school KM went to had no good premedical advising options. MedSchoolCoach worked with her through the entire application, from asking for letters of recommendation, editing her personal statement, interview preparation and more. Together with MedSchoolCoach, KM was able to put together a great application and we are happy to say was accepted into Stanford and Harvard Medical School!
