FLASHPOINTS

Program and station logos courtesy of KPFA

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Flashpoints is a hard-hitting, daily investigative radio newsmagazine. The producers specialize in going after the stories that the corporate media and the alternative media have given up on: the occupation of Palestine, the overthrow of democracy in Haiti, the cleansing of Native tribes and the militarization at the US-Mexico border, the deportation of pregnant immigrant women, et cetera. Whenever possible, we go for frontline sources; people in the war zone or on the front lines where the action or the resistance is taking place. Sometimes our sound is gritty, but the information is always fresh and presents a clear alternative to the corporate media's extreme censorship.

CLOCK & TOPICS Flashpoints is 59:10, with a five-minute newscast (The Knight Report)at the top, followed by several segments on varying topics dependingon the top news stories of the day.
