Change is inevitable in all aspects of life! Change can be good; it al-lows us to grow. As you know, Ste-ven Mattingly left us in January to pursue another great opportunity we will miss him and appreciate the two great years he spent with our Pacifi-ca family. I am happy to announce that we have a New Executive Director Sue Capson. Her first day in the commu-nity is March 4th and she comes to us with fifteen plus years of experi-ence in the Assisted Living and Nursing Care Industries. We are also happy to name our new Maintenance Director, James Church and Resident Care Director, Judith Gitonga who are joining our

team. Please join us for a meet- and-great reception on March 7th from 6:00 pm-7:00pm to welcome our new team members. We look forward to a wonderful evening with our resi-dents and families to mingle with our new staff. It has been a pleasure to act as the community’s Interim Executive Di-rector. Our whole team looks for-ward to the future here at Pacifica San Leandro as we are always committed to the wellbeing of our residents and their families. Regular strengthen-

ing and weight-

bearing exercises

help seniors to build

muscle tissue and

reduce age-related

bone loss. Seniors

should start strength

training two days

per week and to

complete one

weight-bearing ac-

tivity per muscle

group. Beginners

should stick with

one set; advanced

seniors can do three

sets of eight to 12

repetitions.

I am thrilled to announce our 4th very successful Pacifica San Leandro “Speaker Series” will be on March 13th. The topic is "Protecting Your Estate." ! Our speaker is Darren Wallace he is a California Li-censed Professional Fiduciary and principal of Wallace Fiduciary Services. Darren is also licensed as a Na-tionally Certified Guardian. Wanting to work with elderly citizens Darren received his Certificate for Trustees and Certificate for Conservators from California State University at Fuller-ton and started Wallace Fiduciary Services shortly thereafter and has been working to protect senior citi-zens from elder abuse since.
