Draw yarn through the remaining 9 sts by: (1) sliding all sts to a crochet hook and drawing the yarn through the sts with the hook, or (2) threading the yarn tail through the yarn needle and drawing the needle through the yarn loops. Tie off very tightly, several times to secure the crown and leave the long tail for later, to secure the pompom. Finishing: Use a pompom maker to make a 2½” diameter pompom. Use the long tail at the crown of the hat, threaded into the yarn needle to attach the pompom to the top of the hat. Pass the needle through the center of the pompom, then the center of the crown and back out, several time to secure. Tie a sturdy knot, cut ends. Weave in all ends.
