2 Introduction

2.1 Goal This document presents the results of targeted testing of software and selected PacDrive PacDrive3 software, which replaces the PacDrive associated software, the operating system Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit combined. The goal is to find the simplest possible approach for the user, as PacDrive software can be used under Windows 7.

2.2 Software Installation The following software is installed and tested: • ECAM-4 V3.03 • EPAS 4 V24 • assistant controller V3.4.1.0 (32-bit) or 3.4.4.0 (64-bit) • Diagnostics 3.1.6.0 (32-bit) or 3.1.8.0 (64-bit) • Standalone converter project • Netmanage V2.0.5.0 • SercosFWAssistant 2.6 • OPC V3.4.0.2002 V3 (32-bit) or V3.4.0.2004 (64-bit) • Firmware Version 24 SP3 CD • Sycon 1.101.70.00 • Documentation V2008-08-08 (64-bit) Not tested the following software: • PD-backup (from V24 Bundle) • PD Diagnostics (from V24 Bundle) • Gateway Server Standalone • FW Assistant (predecessor of PD-backup) • OPC V2 (EPAS-V24 CD) • Change Detection • MC-4 Bootloader • PacDisk-4 • ENI

2.3 Hardware The tests are performed on a C400 controller with firmware V00.24.20.

3 Tool with user rights + read / write access to st art program files

3.1 Installation of the Tools All of the above programs can be easily installed.

With ECAM-4-installation, the exe file of the CD does not start automatically. (Under WindowsXP it also does not)

After double-clicking on the file Setup-ECAM-4-3.03.exe, the installation of ECAM-4 is error-free through out.

3.2 Full access to the Elau Programs Directory

Netmanage.

Favorites can be added and removed. Controls can be assigned to your favorites. The Favorites

list can be filtered.

With Extras External Tools the tools listed can be started. The controller assistant is listed

twice here.

It can be sorted by any column.

The data selected and for all controls can be displayed in the browser.

4.8 Gateway V2 Using the context menu of the Gateway icon in the taskbar, the Gateway actions are logged and traced.

When Logging is enabled, a log file is created in which the information is stored. By default this is C: \ WINDOWS \ Gateway Files \ log indicated. The folder can be created, although in this directory, no files are stored (the files are stored in the virtual storage), if the user has no write permissions on the folder.

Page 23: PacDriveM on Windows7 V1 - schneider-electric.com · 4.4.1 Standard-setting Firmware directory.....18 4.4.2 Creating a new image and write to flash (card reader).....19 4.4.3 Image

Either these rights are granted, or the log files must be stored in another directory.

If the location for the log files is changed to another directory, the log files are stored properly.

When enabled, tracing, additional information can be seen in the gateway-inspector. Again, this works without error.

4.9 OPC-Server

4.9.1 OPC-Server configuration With the help of the application OPCConfig.exe, the file OPCServer.ini can be opened.

OPCConfig.exe must be started as administrator; otherwise the changes are not saved in the ini file.

It is the same setup that is necessary as in Windows XP.

In EPAS-4 project, the project information configures the symbol file. To test some of the variables of the program UnitMaster are inserted into the Configuration icon.

The current installation package comes with an OPC server, after installation registers as a COM server (V1.2 Beta 2; general failure of the installer). After the OPC Server is registered by use of admin privileges, a client can connect to the OPC Server.

According to documents from 3S, the OPC client should on Vista (even if under Windows 7 is still open) in XP compatibility mode be started.

5.2 Problems and solutions

5.2.1 Transmit ECAM data over FTP to the controller When transferring data via FTP may cause the following error message

Figure 14: ECAM-4: Error message from FTP transfer

Solution:

In the advanced settings of the firewall rules ECAM must be approved. See description see above.

5.2.2 Creating New EPAS-4Project When creating a new project in EPAS-4 you get the following error message:

5.2.4 Create project image If the standard firmware directory is not yet set (over Controller Assistant), following message ap-pears:

Figure 17: EPAS-4: Create project image, Firmware error message

If yes is clicked here, then the EPAS-4 disconnects.

Solution:

This message must be closed with No. Then- Controller Assistant in the default firmware directory must be set (see help). Subsequently, you can then re-create the menu command Project Image.

When creating images, it will project it to the following error message:

Figure 18: EPAS-4: Error message with the Project image creation

The second attempt to write the image to the flash (next day) appears the following error message:

Figure 21: Controller Assistant: Error transferring images to CF card

After closing and opening the controller assistant, the image can then be transmitted without errors.

Solution:

The first error occurred only once.

With Controller Assistant with V3.4.3.0, this error is corrected.

5.2.7 NetManage Scrolling the mouse wheel results in the following error message (with the scroll bar and the arrow up and down buttons, you can scroll):

Figure 22:NetManage: Error message when scrolling with mouse wheel

Solution:

Workaround: Scrolling with the arrow keys or by moving the scroll bar on the list.

5.2.8 Gateway V2 Log files are by default in the C: \ WINDOWS \ Gateway Files \ log.

The directory can be created, but no files are stored in this directory (there appears no error message) when the user has no write permissions on the folder.

Solution:

The log files are in another directory stored.

5.2.9 OPC-Server The changes with the OPCConfig.exe on the OPCServer.ini file that are made are not saved.

Solution:

The program OPCConfig.exe must be started with Administrative rights.

It may be necessary to start the OPC client in XP compatibility mode. This will be dependent on the client.

If yes is clicked here, then the EPAS-4 disconnects.

Solution:

This message must be closed with No. Then Controller-Assistant must be set in the default firmware directory (see help). Subsequently, you can then re-create the menu command Project Image.

When creating the project images you get the following error message:

Figure 25: EPAS-4: Error with the Project image creation

Solution:

The user needs write access (see above) to the following directory:

C:\Program (x86)\Schneider Electric\Controller Assistant\

The image is created and the Controller Assistant will be opened.

The project is being transmitted with the image controller assistant to the controller, so you can then subsequently with the EPAS-4 without online change or download re-login to the controller.

7.2.8 OPC-Server The changes that are made with the OPCConfig.exe OPCServer.ini file are not saved.

Solution:

The program OPCConfig.exe must be started with Administrative rights.

ToDo: It seems that under C: \ Windows folder of the "gateway files" must be present for this then the Virtual Store will also be created? The items are only displayed in the client, if this folder exists. The MSDS file will be downloaded from the controller and stored in the folder ... \ VirtualStore \ Windows \ Gateway Files \ Upload.

It may be necessary to start the OPC client in XP compatibility mode. This will depend on the client.
