PACCAR PARTS ECOMMERCE

PACCAR Parts supplies high quality truck parts and accessories for all models of Kenworth and DAF trucks, as well as for mainstream European and US drivelines. It is a division of PACCAR Australia.

The eCommerce System will allow customers to view and order parts online, view their purchase history and update their information. In addition, it will provide PACCAR Parts the ability to view in greater detail, customer buying patterns across its network of dealers.The eCommerce System will provide access for customers who have been invited by their dealers as well as customers who are part of a fleet arrangement.

The Paccar wanted the TRP website was the same style as PaccarParts website so I just needed focusing on typography, color palettes, layouts, grid systems, icons, and imagery. I developed it with using Wordpress and WooCommerce for first version of website.

Research

We didn’t have a PM working on the project who could do full-scale research, so I took the initiative and created a quick sprint in order to learn more about ecommerce flow, product, target audience.

Drivers - Looking for parts of their truck that need to be replaced. If they have problems with the truck's parts while they are driving, they can order them on any devices with the nearest dealer, mostly interested in browsing.

Needs:1. Browse/Search for a favorite part2. Place a bid on the part3. Checkout and request shipping/ picking up

User Experience

Prototyping

Working with data collected during the research phase, I was able to set up user flows which we reviewed with the team. After that, we continued with the first version of wireframes with using Balsamiq.

I used InVision to handle feedback, communication and make prototypes. Usually, I’d upload the latest version of the wireframes (and later on designs).

We completed a few rounds of updates to ensure the wireframes included everything we needed then moved on to designing the UI, which you can dive into in the next section.

What is the important for buyer:- Getting their needed part- Authenticity- Trust- Speed- Inquire about parts if they are not available.- Very simple UI
