    How did you hear about

    Palindrome?

    I heard about Palindrome through

an article in The Wall Street Journal.!

What is the mission of Shes the

    First?

Shes the First is a not-for-profit that

    sponsors girls education in the

    developing world. We encourage people,

    especially Millennials, to creatively

    fundraise for girls sponsorships with

their online and offline social networks.

For sponsors, Shes the First providescommunity, leadership opportunities, and

a sense of global citizenship. For

    underprivileged girls, a sponsorship is

life-changing:Most will be the first in their

    families to graduate.

    What were your specific board

    needs?

We were looking to expand our

board with expertise from the financialand business sector.

    How have you communicated with

    your matched board members?

Tell us about some of your

    preliminary discussion.

I met with Evelyn Rusli and Lauren

Heiser after work in New York City, and

gave them the crash course in what She's

the First is all about, how far we've

grown and our vision for the future. Atthe time we met, a couple weeks ago, I

was gearing up for the biggest fundraiser

of She's the First, the GIRLS WHO

ROCK concert -- Evelyn attended with a

friend and Lauren donated to our online

campaign. We are so grateful for their

    immediate support! We are meeting

again to debrief and talk about how

start tackling our next biggest challe

corporate sponsorship and strongerdonation campaigns, with better use

technology on our website. They ar

invited to attend the next Board me

in August to meet our current mem

    and discuss the next steps!

    How has Palindrome helped s

and how do you hope to engag

    with us in the future?

This is just the beginning -- I loforward to learning best practices th

    other Boards have developed and

growing our organization with the n

    talent that Palindrome has brought

    way!

I heard about Palindrome from ZawThet who I know and respect fromthe technology industry. I wanted toget involved with Palindrome becauseof their unique model of matchingpeople who have specific capabilitiesand expertise with organizations whotruly need and can benefit from theseskills. It ultimately allows individuals

to contribute in immediate andmeaningful ways to worthyorganizations which they wouldn'totherwise know about. I was matchedwith Helen Keller International(HKI). HKI is an amazingorganization that was founded in1915 and is dedicated to saving sight

and lives around the world byaddressing malnutrition and othercauses of blindness. HKI wasspecifically looking for someone with a

combination of finance andtechnology backgrounds. Myinitiatives are still being defined butthey are likely to include: (1) assistingin broadening out the donor base andreaching more individual donors, (2)working through some complexfinancial issues, and (3) helping themthink through technologyopportunities which can furtherextend the global reach of the HKIorganization. The on-boarding processhas involved meeting a number of theboard members and the seniormanagement team.I also was able toattend their annual gala event lastmonth, which was a great way ofgetting a feel for the organization, itsmission, its team and its donors.

Having grown up in Nebraska, theintersection of football and childrenseducation is of utmost importance to me.The Palindrome Team had no problemfinding both a cause I was passionate

about and a partner that could utilize theskills I brought to the table. In the financeworld, it is incredibly hard to give backbeyond a paycheck, Palindrome hasredefined this process for me allowingme to structure my engagement with thenonprofit world. The San Francisco 49ersAcademy was established through a

partnership with Communities in Scho(CIS) in 1996. CIS started as a smallgrassroots movement in a few cities ledby Bill Milliken - one of the nation'sforemost pioneers in the movement togive young people the help they need tograduate from high school and go on torewarding careers. Palindrome not onlyfacilitated the match but also stood bythroughout the on-boarding process, allowing me to meet the board membe

of the organization and attend agraduation event that made me feel rigat home. I am looking forward to havinan impact on the organization this yearand getting to know more advisorsthrough the incredible community thePalindrome Team has brought together

The past several months have been nothing

short of amazing here at Palindrome Advisors.

In March, we announced our Palindrome

Pledge program, where over a hundred top

industry leaders made a commitment to change

the way they give back to the nonprofit sector.

In April, we announced our partnership with

the White Houses new Startup America

    initiative called Palindrome Startups, which

matches our advisors with young companies

and first-time entrepreneurs. Since May, we

have been working diligently to match our

incredible advisors with our equally incredible

nonprofits. It is still an ongoing process, as we

want to ensure the facilitation of the best

    matches possible.

Indeed, Palindrome has great strides here in

just the past three months. We have grown

from 100 elite business leaders and 40

nonprofit partners to a network of over 300

advisors and nonprofits. We have hosted more

than 5 advisor events and one nonprofit

conference bringing together members of the

    technology, media, advertising, and venture

capital industries to work together towards

change in the nonprofit sector. Additionally, our

founder Zaw Thet has been busy spreading the

Palindrome word. As featured, Zaw was chosen

by the United Nations Foundation to their

inaugural class of global entrepreneurs council.

Additionally, he is scheduled to speak at the

Guardian Activate Summit in London, which

convenes leaders from all over the globe

attempting to change the world through media

and technology. Read his interview here.

More excitement is around the corner,

including our July Movie Night, Board

Luncheon and Annual Summit (Stay tuned for

    exact dates.)

Finally, in addition to serving the needs of ournonprofit and advisor partners, we have also

committed to our internal development as an

organization. As such, by the end of 2011, we

hope to hire a full-time staff to oversee advisor

    relations, nonprofit outreach, and strategic

development. It is our hope that in doing so, we

will be able to become a more effective

organization bridging the gap between the

nonprofit and for-profit world. We are glad you

are on board the journey with us as we strive toachieve this goal.

    Sincerely,

    The Palindrome Team
