NEW BEGININGS
It is officially the start
of the 2013-2014 Key Club year! Welcome everyone to a fun year filled with service! Congratulations to all the new officers and I hope you’re all excited to get started! Please remember to send in your Officer Report Forms to the email addresses on the right. Also, please feel free to contact me for any new officer installations. I would love to schedule a visit for each of your clubs before this school year ends so we can all get to know each other!
If your club still has not held officer elections, I encourage you to hold them before the school year closes. That way the current officers can guide the new officers.
Please welcome our
new executive officers for the PA District Board. Stephen Wheadon is our new Governor, Medha Sharma is our new Secretary/Treasurer, and Helen Wang is our new Communication Coordinator. They are just as anxious as I am for the new Key Club year.
April 2013 The new Lieutenant
Governors were added to the PA District Board as well. As your LTG, I plan on having as many divisional events and service projects as possible!
Please remember to
send your new Officer Election reports to me and our District Administrator, Bob Orlando, in a timely manner: [email protected]

DC/LC
The 2013-2014 District
Convention/Leadership Conference (DC/LC) was held in Hershey last month. It was a great experience for Key Clubbers around the state to meet each other and learn valuable leadership skills. It featured many leadership workshops, an entertaining key note speaker, an awards ceremony, and many fun activities! Congratulations to all the clubs and officers who won awards!
Our new Youth
Serving Youth service project was chosen at DC/LC. It is now the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Start thinking of new service projects and fundraising ideas!
If you are disappointed that you missed going to the DC/LC, you should consider going to DC/LC next year! It will be hosted at Harrisburg from March 14-16. It is an excellent opportunity for you and your club to become better acquainted!
Everyone is welcome
to come to DC/LC. If you are currently an officer or wish to run for an officer position for next year, this is a great chance for you to learn leadership and lifelong skills.
More information
about DC/LC will be posted on the district website (pakeyclub.org) closer to March.
KEY CLUB PLEDGE
Don't know the Key Club
pledge? No worries.
Just follow along below:
I pledge, on my honor, to up-
hold the objects of Key Club
International; to build my
home, school and community;
to serve my nation and God;
and to combat all forces
which tend to undermine
these institutions.
KEY CLUB MISSION
Key Club is an international
student-led organization which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character
and develop leadership. This is a photo from DC/LC of the three generations of Division 18 S LTGs! Pictured from left to right: Liz Smolinski (11-12), Sarah Dougherty (12-13), and myself Barry Seng (13-14)

Divisional Service Project
A great way to
kick off the new Key
Club year is with a
Division 18 S service
project! One of my
teachers, my friend, and
myself have created a
fundraising event for the
victims of the Boston
Marathon Bombings. All
proceeds from this event
will go to the Spread the
Love Fund, which
benefits post-accurate
care for victims of injuries
from the bombings. This is
a running festival event
that will be held at
Emmaus High School’s
track and stadium. It is
open to anyone in the
community and to all
ages. Participants can
come out and run as
many laps as they want
for the victims and
there’s plenty to do for
non-runners too!
The event is being
held on Sunday, May 19
from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
noon. I understand this is
very late notice. I
apologize for not getting
in touch with all of you
earlier but the event was
last minute as well.
I am requesting
volunteers from all over
Division 18S to come help
out and have fun. We will
be having two shifts that
day from 8 am – 10 am
and 10 am – 12 pm.
Please tell your club
members about the
event and see if they are
interested.
If you or someone
you know would like to
volunteer or participate
in the event, please email
me and I will directly
organize the volunteers
and give them specific
information.
More Information
I created a
Facebook event group
called “Giving Back
Around the Track- Div 18S
Key Club Volunteering. I
encourage you to check
out this event because
this is more information
on the Facebook page.
This is where you can add
friends to the event and
sign up to volunteer.
Once again, I will give
you all the specifics if you
decide to volunteer. You
can also go on the
event’s website:
http://givingbackaroundt
hetrack.eventbrite.com
to find out more
information.
If you don’t want
to volunteer, run in the
event! Tell your family
and friends because it
benefits a great cause.
