Virginia Career Works- Petersburg Center“Objectives: 1.To increase participant’s education and skill attainment that will expand their opportunity to earn a self-sufficiency wage. 2. To capitalize on available community resources and increase their use and effectiveness for families in the target areas. 3. To develop community partnerships to address barriers that have hindered financial stability for families and delayed economic growth in the community.”

Chester�eld Workforce Center“We provide youth with the resources, training and opportunities needed to help them become connected to support systems and supportive caring people that can jumpstart their upward mobility through self and family sustaining employment.”

Pathways“Pathways is a private, non-profit, 501(c)3 community development corporation working to rebuild and strengthen Petersburg, VA and the surrounding counties. Pathways addresses the needs of our changing world and equips youth and adults with the necessary skills and credentials for today's labor market. One of Pathways' goals is to foster development that leads to the health of a neighborhood and its residents as well as relationships between persons and their environment. These efforts provide the foundation for all they do.”

Neighborhood Resource Center of Greater Fulton “Neighborhood Resource Center strengthens families. We build relationships, sharing resources, and developing skills to enhance lives in Greater Fulton. We are an educational and cultural center fostering personal growth and community change in Greater Fulton, an impoverished community in Richmond’s East End. We were formed in March 2002 as a response to the underlying conditions of low-educational attainment and poverty in the community.”

The James HouseJames House is the only accredited nonprofit organization helping people affected by sexual violence, domestic violence, and stalking in the Tri-Cities area.

Petersburg Social ServicesFor Child Protective Services“Our goal is to identify, assess, and provide services to children and families in an effort to protect children, preserve families whenever possible, and prevent further maltreatment. Child Protective Services (CPS) is non-punitive in its approach and is directed toward enabling families to provide adequate care for their children.”

For Adult Services“Adult Services (AS) are designed to allow the adult to remain in the least restrictive setting and function as independently as possible by establishing and/or strengthening appropriate family and social support systems or by supporting the adult in self-determination. Adult Services are provided to impaired adults age 18 or older, and to their families when appropriate.”

For Foster Care“The Foster Care Program provides services to children and families when circumstances require the child to be removed from their home. Foster care provides a safe and stable environment for children and older youth until the issues that made placement outside the home necessary are resolved.”

Colonial Heights Food Pantry“Colonial Heights Food Pantry, Inc. is committed to alleviating hunger and developing collaborative strategies to encourage self-reliance and preserve human dignity. The CHFP serves residence only of Colonial Heights and portions of zip codes 23803 and 23834 specifically addressed as South Chesterfield.”

CCHASM, (Chester�eld / Colonial Heights Alliance For Social Ministry)“Their mission is “to provide food, financial assistance, and career clothing to area residents who have experienced or are experiencing an emergency situation which threatens their survival needs.”

Feed More“FeedMore is Central Virginia’s core hunger-relief organization dedicated to providing neighbors in need with healthy meals and hope for a better tomorrow. With a service area that stretches across 34 cities and counties, FeedMore helps the nearly 200,000 children, families and seniors in Central Virginia who struggle with hunger. Working to efficiently and effectively fight hunger, FeedMore’s multi-tiered approach, comprehensive programs and network of more than 300 partner agencies are dedicated to providing neighbors who face hunger with one of the most basic necessities: nourishment”

Cares- Crisis Assistance Response Emergency Center“CARES operates the only emergency shelter for women and children in the Tri-Cities area. We serve the communities of Chesterfield, Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie, Hopewell, Petersburg and Prince George. We also operate a Food Pantry and Clothes Closet for low-income residents of Petersburg.”

The Salvation Army Of Central Virginia“The Salvation Army Tri-Cities Service Center provides services including, utility assistance, rent/mortgage assistance, case management, and Christmas assistance for residents. Shelter and adult rehabilitation services are accessible to Tri-Cities residents in our Richmond locations. Please visit the website listed below to get more information.”

Saint Joseph's Villa“St. Joseph’s Villa is a non-sectarian 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a brighter future for families of all socioeconomic backgrounds faced with developmental disabilities, diverse learning styles, mental health issues, homelessness, and other challenges. Our Petersburg office serves as the coordinated point of entry for households in the Tri-cities that are experiencing homelessness or in jeopardy of becoming homeless.”

Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development- Weatherization Assistance“The Weatherization Assistance program provides funds to install measures that reduce residential heating and cooling costs for low-income families and enhance the health and safety of residents. The program provides repairs and improvements to home heating and cooling systems and provides for the installation of energy-saving measures in the house, such as insulation and air sealing. The goal of the program is to increase the energy efficiency of housing occupied by low-income persons and reduce their total residential energy expenditures. This program does not offer assistance with paying utility bills.”

Central Virginia Health Services Center“Central Virginia Health Services is a non-profit, federally qualified community health center. CVHS is Virginia’s oldest and largest network of community health centers in the state – serving 18 locations across Virginia, including two in Petersburg. We offer medical, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services. We accept most insurances and offer a sliding scale discount based on family size and income. We are committed to providing safe, accessible, affordable, comprehensive, high quality and culturally sensitive care to the people we serve.”
