    MontageDescription:

    Inspirational montage made with two pictures.Programs used: Photoshop.Date: February 12, 2016.Course & Section: COMM 130 – 03.Instructor: Ben Pingel.

Objectives:Design an inspirational poster through a photomontage.Through my poster I wanted to show the audience that we all could

be lights for the people around us, through our service and example.

Process:First I looked for various images to gain inspiration from them. When I found the pictures I wamted to use, I cropped the image ofthe background (picture #1) to 8.5×11.Then I added the image of the girl (picture #2) over the background. The original background of the second picture was black, whichhelped me with the montage. With the mask tool and a soft edge brush, I started blending image #2with image #1.I removed the hard edges with a 100% opacity and I altered theopacity throughout different parts of the image. After the project deadline I spent around 30 minutes re ning the edg -es of the girl picture so the original background of the photo wasn’tvisible.

    PhotoDesignDescription:

Poster made with Adobe Photoshop using an original photograph.Programs used: Photoshop.Date: February 7, 2016.Course & Section: COMM 130 – 03.Instructor: Ben Pingel.

Objectives: Show any potential employers my skill set and under-standing in photography and Adobe Photoshop through this poster.

Process:First I took various photographs at BYUI Thomas E. Ricks Gardens, andthen I chose the photo I used for this poster.I edited the photo on Adobe Photoshop, changing the brightness andcontrast, altering the colors using the selective color tool, getting ridof some spots and a nail next to the lizard using the spot healing brushtool, making the lizard and the tree more distinguishable by using thesharpen tool, using the blur tool to make some parts of the image lessdetailed and more minor edits.

After editing the photo I started designing the poster; I used some ele-ments from the FOCUS principles like proximity-shown in the title- rep-etition -in the circles at the center of the poster- and more.I used a triadic color scheme that I believe complements the colors inthe picture.

After the project deadline, I spent around 20 minutesre ning some details like the color scheme of thedesign, the contrast of the photo and its sharpness.

Through the FOCUS principles I knew how to align the element in mydesign, add hierarchy to certain elements, combine fonts and addcontrast to the poster.

After the project deadline, I spent around 20 minutesre ning some details like the contrast of the photoand its sharpness. I also alligned some elements likethe text, the owers and the lines at the bottom.
