Week 3 Date: Spelling words Words used in context A bulldozer is used to plough the field. A helicopter has two propellers. Fire-engine is a vehicle designed to assist in fighting fires. My father rides a motor bike to work. My grandfather still drives his vintage car which he bought in 1924. Yellow is my favourite colour. Green is the colour of the grass. My sisters favourite colour is orange. Most metal spoons are silver in colour. The ocean is blue.

Week 4 Date: Spelling words Words used in context An anteater has a tapered snout and powerful front claws. Baboon is a large African monkey. A bug is an insect. A lizard has sticky pads on its legs so that it will not fall off while crawling on the ceiling. Mother likes to bake apple pie. The strings around the box snap because it was too tight. An exclamation mark is used to express surprise or anger. The monkey likes to hang on the tree branch. We should not walk on the grass. It will destroy them. Tigers like to eat meat.2

Week 7 Date: Spelling words Words used in context A crayfish looks like a lobster but it is smaller. Dragonfly is an insect that preys on mosquitoes. An eel is a snakelike marine or freshwater fish. A fish has scales and fins. Muskrat looks like a rodent and is sometimes called water rat. Salamander eats insects, worms, snails and sometimes fish. A turtle is different from a tortoise. Turtles are reptiles. We drink eight glasses of water everyday. A beetle eats almost everything, plants, other insects, carcasses and dung. Everyone in the class loves to read about animals.
