1. SCOPE & OBJECTIVESThe Purpose of this procedure is to ensure that Concreting works of Suspended Slab and Beam are executed in accordance with the contract requirements, hazards are analyzed, safety procedures implemented all quality assurance/control activities are conducted in a systematic manner, works inspected and conformance is verified and documented for Beach Villa on BVN 55-60 at The Pearl Qatar.

3. ACCESS/ EGRESSAdequate access and egress should be provided to the site. Access will be through designated entrance and exit pathways only.

4. LOGISTICSContractor will deploy a dedicated team for the concreting works. 5. HEALTH & SAFETY HAZARDS5.1 All workers involved will be trained in hazards recognition and control measures necessary. 5.2 All the personnel will be provided with toolbox talk on the procedures to execute the work safely.5.3 Safety system / method of work that covers concrete receiving, placing on site, pouring operations will be established by member management team. 5.4 Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) should be worn at all times.5.5 Secure barricades within the area whenever necessary.5.6 Washing facilities should be provided.5.7 Formworks should be checked before concrete is put in place.5.8 The accumulation of concrete spillage should be prevented.5.9 The effect of weather conditions should be considered and appropriate allowances made especially on hot weather.5.10 Only qualified and trained personnel will do the task.

7. RESPONSIBILITIES / SUPERVISION7.1 Project Engineer shall be responsible for the execution of this procedure and to ensure that works are undertaken in a safe manner to the requisite quality and to the time agreed timescale. He shall advise and coordinate with other contractors pertaining to access and interface requirements related to the excavation works to be undertaken.7.2 Site Engineer shall be responsible for the site implementation of this procedure including control and the safety of the workers.7.3 Surveyor in coordination with site engineer has the responsibility to perform all survey works according to the IFC drawings.7.4 QA/QC Inspector shall be responsible for the supervision of tests and inspection, control approvals for testing and inspection plan and to arrange documentation required.7.5 Safety Officer shall be responsible for the strict implementation of safety procedure during work commencements.

8. PROCEDURE / METHOD TO BE EMPLOYED:8.1 Generala. Testing and frequency of material related to concrete, design mixes, batching and mixing of concrete, transporting of concrete, tests on green and hardened concrete and submittals shall be made in accordance with Contract Technical Specification and the latest edition of Qatar Construction Specification (QCS).b. Delivery, Storage, Testing frequency of reinforcement bars and submittals shall be made in accordance with BS 4449.

8.2 Reinforcementa. All steel reinforcement shall comply with BS 4449 or ASTM A 615/A 615M.b. Reinforcement bars shall be stored over timber beams, at least 20 cm above ground level. All the bars shall be protected from weather, dust and humidity by covering with tarpaulins or polyethylene sheets. c. Bar bending schedules in accordance with BS 8110 shop drawings shall be prepared by approved steel reinforcement Fabrication Company (by ERF).d. Cutting, Bending and fixing of reinforcement shall be carried in compliance to BS 8666 and Part 11.4 and 11.5 Section 5 of Qatar Construction Specification (QCS) and as per the approved bar bending schedules and shop drawings. e. Lap lengths of reinforcement shall be according or indicated in the approved IFC drawing.f. Minimum concrete cover of 25 mm and 20 mm for beams and slab respectively shall be maintained as per the approved drawings and specifications.g. The concrete spacer block dimension shall be as per specified thickness cover and shall be made with the same mix proportion as the structures.h. All necessary spacers and chairs shall be provided to maintain the specified covers. Chairs bars shall be provided at 1 meter maximum intervals on both direction to maintain the top and bottom covers or should meet the approved drawings & specification requirements.i. The fabricated bars shall be kept in position as approved in shop drawings and tied with approved tie wires. The ends or wire shall be bent into the concrete.8.3 Formworksa. All formworks shall be done in accordance to BS 5975 and BS 8110; Section 5 of Qatar Construction Specification (QCS).b. Scaffolding for working and access platform shall be erected and inspected by trained personnel.c. Formworks shall be design and supply by PERI Qatar (see attached SKYDECK BROCHURE) and shall be in accordance with BS 5975 and BS 8110; Part 9, Section 5 of Qatar construction Specification (QCS). See also attached Main Villa Elevator Shaft Framework.d. Formworks to be used shall be marine plywood furnish in largest practicable sizes to minimize number of joints.e. Fabricate and install forms for easy removal to avoid damage to cast concrete surfaces when stripping. The formworks shall be braced enough to withstand external forces during concrete casting.f. Form ties shall be factory-fabricated for securing formworks and shall be installed as per PERI Qatar design and recommendation. Form ties designed to resist lateral pressure during concrete placing.g. Lines, levels and dimensions shall be mark by surveyor before and after formworks installation and shall be maintained during concrete casting.h. Temporary opening shall be provided for cleanouts and shall be closed and securely braced to prevent loss of concrete mortar.i. Coat contact surfaces of forms with form-release agent before placing of reinforcement.j. The periods of striking / removal of formwork shall be 4 days for slab soffit formworks (props left under) and 10 days for beam soffit formworks (props left under). Removal of props to slab is 11 days and removal of props to beam is 15 days and in compliance with Table 9.1 of QCS Section 5 Part 9.5.2. 8.4 Embedded Items / Servicesa. Install anchor rods, accurately located to elevations required.b. All the Embedded Services / sleeves for MEP works shall be in compliance with approved MEP Drawings.c. Place and secured embedded items and services tied enough not to displace during concrete casting.d. All MEP services embedment shall be installed, inspected and approved prior to concrete casting.e. Gravity testing inspection for embedded drainage pipe system shall be done and documented before concrete casting. 8.5 Concretinga. Structural concrete shall be as per approved mix design specified on structural drawings and in compliance with Part 8 Section 5 of Qatar Construction Specification (QCS).b. Structural concrete works shall commence upon completion / approval of reinforcement and formwork activities.c. Site Engineer shall ensure that the formwork provided for the required shape and dimensions are in accordance with the drawings.d. Reference levels for top of the concrete shall be provided by Surveyor at the liner of forms. Steel pins / nails shall be provided at intermediate areas as guide levels for the required elevation.e. Adequate working platforms shall be provided for compaction / vibration and other activities.f. All the surfaces shall be cleaned. Foreign matters such as saw dust, wooden and wire pieces shall be removed prior to Concreting.g. All safety precautions shall be followed.h. Site Engineer shall ensure the availability of standby vibrators; pokers, hand tools, Hessian clothes, polythene sheets and enough water shall be available on site.i. The number and size of vibrators shall be such as to ensure thorough compaction of the entire volume of concrete poured. Standby units shall also be provided.j. Concrete placement sequence shall be planned in a manner so to have minimum repositioning of the transit mixer /concrete pump/crane (see attached Concreting Machine Location and Concreting Direction). See also attached Ground Floor Slab and Beam Construction (Main Villa and Pool Annex) including top level of concrete.k. All the chutes, buckets, pokers and hand tools shall be cleaned with water before and after concreting.l. Surfaces of the formworks shall be kept moist; standing water shall be removed before concreting.m. Concrete shall be ordered only after approval of the Inspection Request (IR) to place concrete by AEB representative.n. During hot weather conditions the following precautions / preventive measures shall be taken as applicable / required to control the effect of high ambient temperature, and low relative humidity : Cooled water / ice shall be used for batching / mixing concrete. Water shall be cooled by using chillers, ice (if necessary) to maintain concrete temperature equal to or below 32 deg. C. Maximum shade temperature during placing of concrete shall be not more than 35 deg. C. To keep cool, transit mixer drum surface shall be painted white, which shall minimize solar heat gain. Transit mixers drum surfaces shall be kept cool by covering them with wet Hessian clothes, damp by spraying water. Water shall be sprayed to the concrete mixer drum before batching and during delivery. Pouring shall be planned / scheduled on the evening hours when the weather condition is favourable and adverse exposure of the concrete to the environment can be avoided. Time to transport, place, consolidate and finish the concrete shall be minimized by proper planning and coordination.o. Concrete shall be delivered to site and used within 90 minutes after the introduction of water and shall be placed and compacted to its final position. Batch interval to monitor and the pouring rate per hour will be recorded.p. The delivery ends of the pump hoses shall be kept as close as possible to the delivery points; the drop height shall be minimized to 1.5m (max) to avoid segregation.q. Vibrators shall be operated at regular intervals to produce dense, compact, homogeneous concrete surface without segregation and ensure thorough compaction of the entire volume of the concrete.r. Vibrators shall be withdrawn slowly to prevent the formation of voids and shall not be placed against compacted concrete. It shall not be used for transporting concrete.s. Surface finishes shall be done as per clause QCS Section 5. 8.6 Curing of Concretea. Water to be used for curing shall be free from salt, harmful matters and other impurities.b. Curing will be done after the concrete has been placed in position. Concrete shall be cured to a minimum of seven days.c. The concreted surface shall be covered with polythene sheets soon after the surface finishing. The polythene sheeting shall be raised to a short distance above the concreted surface of unformed surfaces. Polythene sheets shall be removed and replaced with wet Hessian after the concrete hardens. The Hessian shall be kept damp continuously during curing period to ensure that all horizontal and vertical faces of concrete surface are wet / damp during the curing period.

8.7 Testing:a. Testing on concrete aggregates is to be as per QCS Section 05 part 6.4.b. Slump and temperature of fresh concrete supplied to site shall be monitored and checked in accordance with QCS Section 05.c. Strength testing (cubes): 3 cubes for every 25 cum minimum or 1 set per day that concrete is placed, one tested at 7 days and two tested at 28 days. d. Testing of steel reinforcement will be done every delivery to have random testing or as in conformity with QCS section 5 Part 11.8.8 Protection of Sub Structures All structures below ground to be protected with an approved water proofing system.8.9 Embedmentsa. Anchor bolts to be fixed to correct level and line with templates and secured firmly to prevent any displacements during concreting. b. PVC Ducts and Sleeves are placed in position, and supported adequately prior to concreting, by securing to formwork and or rebars.c. No welding shall be done to the rebars, for fixing the embedments. 9 TRAINING Relevant trainings and orientations have been provided to person who will perform their specified task.

10 WORKING HOURSAs scheduled.

11 HOUSE KEEPING Working Areas will be kept clean by disposing the waste materials at the designated areas. At the end of days work, installation supervisor will ensure that the debris are disposed off.

13 MATERIAL REQUIREMENT All concrete and steel reinforcement materials to be used shall be duly approved. Installation / placing shall conform to Project Specifications.

15 QC APPROVAL AND OTHER DOCUMENTRY REQUIREMENTS:All works shall be done with accordance to Approved Method Statement and Project Specifications. Request for inspection shall be submitted for Engineers approval prior to the works commencement. 16 SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION: This MS to be read in conjunction with the below referenced documents Contract Specification & approved drawings. Project Quality Plan Project HSE Plan
