Non Techhcal I Summary:
Bailieboro Foods and Bailie Foods are situated approximately 1 km North East of Bailieborough town. The site was granted an IPC Licence in May 2000. The IPC Licence was granted under section 83( 1) of the Environmental Protection Agency Act, 1992 where the manufacture of dairy products involves a processing capacity in excess of 50 million gallons of milk per year.
Processing on the site involves the production of 30000 tonnes of butter and 30000 tonnes of milk powder approximately per year. The vast majority of the production is for export mainly to Europe, Africa and the Far East.
Waste water is treated by the on site waste water treatment plant prior to discharge via spray irrigation system (to be phased out as part of new proposals) This is carried out in accordance with our P C Licence no 406.
CO2 emissions on site are from combustion of natural gas in Boilers, these boilers can also be run on gas oil in the event of a disruption to gas supply. Diesel / Kerosene oil is used to fire on site emergency generators and heating. Propane is also used for heating.
