She grew up on the familyfarm near Madison. She at-tended Richter CountrySchool and graduated fromBeadle High School in 1960.She moved to Lincoln, NEwhere she worked for twoyears as a computer opera-tor. She moved back to Madi-son in 1963. She has lived atPrairie Homes Assisted Liv-
ing in Yankton since 2008. There will be a prayer
service at 7:00 p.m. on Fridayat Weiland Funeral Chapelwhich is in charge of thearrangements.

Sally Bart, age 94 of Hart-ington, Nebraska, died onTuesday, April 1, 2014 at theGolden Living Center inHartington.
Mass of Christian Burialwill be on Friday, April 4,2014 at 10:30 a.m. at HolyTrinity Catholic Church inHartington, NE with the Rev.Jeffery Loseke officiating.Burial will be at St.Michael’s cemetery in Hart-ington. Military rites will beconducted by the Harting-ton VFW Post #5283, theAmerican Freedom Riders,and the Crofton AmericanLegion Post #128.
Visitation will be onThursday from 4-8:00 p.m.with a Vigil Service at 6:00p.m. at the Wintz FuneralHome in Hartington. Visita-tion will continue on Fridaymorning at church one hourprior to services.
Rosella (Sally) J. Bart,daughter of Frank and Anna(Bogner) Bart, was born onOctober 2, 1919 on the fam-ily farm east of Crofton, NE.She attended elementaryschool at St. Rose and grad-uated from Crofton HighSchool in 1937. Sally at-tended Omaha School ofCommerce and was em-ployed in Omaha, Denver,and Chicago. On January 22,1943, she joined the WAAC(Women’s Auxiliary ArmyCorporation), becoming thefirst woman in CedarCounty to join the military.Basic training was in Ft.Oglethorpe, GA, and admin-istration school was in Con-way, AR. On September 1,1943, the WAAC was re-named the Women’s ArmyCorp. From April 9, 1944 toOctober 20, 1945, Sallyserved her country in E.T.O.(European Theatre of Oper-ations) in England andFrance during WWII. It wasduring that period whileworking in the mailroomthat she realized herbrother, Raymond Bart waskilled in action. On Novem-ber 6, 1945, she was dis-charged at Ft. Sheridan, IL,having completed her tourof duty.
After returning to civilianlife, Sally was employed atBF Goodrich in Chicago, aswell as other places until1950 when she returned toNebraska. She worked at theFord Garage in Hartington asa bookkeeper for four years.During this time she alsocared for her sister, Katie’s
childrenwhile Katiewas in thehospital inKearney, NEfor ninemonths. Shewas em-ployed atFarmers’Home Ad-
ministration from December1955 until her retirement in1981. After retirement, sheworked for Gayle HochsteinSand and Gravel as a book-keeper. Sally supported twochildren from the DominicanRepublic through ChristianCharities from baby to 16years of age.
Sally was an active mem-ber of the Holy TrinityCatholic Church, held a Per-petual Adoration Hour fromJanuary 1981 to 2013, CD ofA, Holy Trinity Guild, lifemember of the HartingtonVFW Post #5283 and lifemember of the CroftonAmerican Legion Post 128.Sally served nine years onthe Hartington Ambulance,she was a CCD Coordinator,and she served on the Com-munity Caretakers and theHartington Community Foun-dation. Sally also did volun-teer work at the HartingtonNursing Center. In 1994, shewas presented the Harting-ton Outstanding CitizenAward. She was a world trav-eler; she loved bowling andgolf, and watching her neigh-bor kids grow up. Sally livedlife to the fullest.
Sally is survived by four-teen nieces and nephews,Ann Marie Kuehler, NancySchieffer, Kathy Wicht, PatHuss, Toni King, SteveKeiser, Jean Rieff, HeidiHaberman, Rose Ann Sundin,Sharlene Guenther, RomanBart, Don Keiser, EdwardBart, and Mary Ann Promes.Sister-in-law Irene Bart, andmany great nieces andnephews.

Mass of Christian Burialwill be 10:30 a.m. on Satur-day, April 5, 2014 at SacredHeart Catholic Church inYankton with Reverend JohnRutten officiating. Burial willbe in the Beaver Creek Ceme-tery in rural Crofton, Ne-braska.
Visitation is from 5:00 to8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4,2014 at the Wintz & Ray Fu-neral Home in Yankton with aRosary 7:00 p.m. and VigilService at 7:30 p.m. Visitationwill resume one hour prior tothe Mass at the church onSaturday.

Mildred “Millie” Woottonwas born January 24, 1916 onthe farm in rural Crofton, Ne-braska to Hubert and Mary(Bogner) Sprakel. She grewup in rural Crofton and at-tended Beaver Creek GradeSchool. She moved to WestPoint, Nebraska and then toOmaha, Nebraska before set-tling in Seattle, Washingtonwhere she met Charles Woot-ton. Millie married Charleson February 12, 1941 in Seat-tle. They moved to Yankton,
South Dakotain 1944, whereMillie raisedher family andhelpedCharles at theContractorsand BuildersLumberyard,which theyowned and
operated until 1998. Millie be-came a resident of Avera Sis-ter James Care Center in2006.
Millie was a member ofSacred Heart CatholicChurch in Yankton, whereshe was very active on theAltar Society, Funeral Com-mittee, Bazaar Committee,Soup Kitchens, CatholicDaughters and the MadonnaCircle. She was also very ac-tive in the Yankton GirlScouts and became known asthe “Equipment Lady” be-cause she would always takecare of the canoes, tents andother various camping equip-ment. Millie served with theMinn-la-Kota Girl Scout coun-cil for over 50 years. She wasalso a member of the Ameri-can Legion Auxiliary and theRed Hat Society in Yankton.In 1994, she was awarded theCitizen of the Year in Yanktonfor her devotion to her com-munity. Even with all of hercharitable and volunteer ac-tivities she still found timefor her flowers, in particularher geraniums. It was not un-usual to see various gerani-ums blooming in the frontwindows of the Contactorsand Builders Lumberyard or
in the basement windows ofher home in the winter. Shecould often be found outsidetending to her flowers fromthe first sign of Spring untilthe first hard frost of Winter.Millie had an unwaveringfaith in God and was alwaysthere for her family.
Survivors include her sixchildren: Richard and RosieWootton of Yankton, SouthDakota; Julie and Larry Wach-holtz of Pierce, Nebraska;Bernita and Pat Whalen ofBenicia, California; BertWootton of Pinole, California;Ron Wootton of Omaha, Ne-braska; and Nadine Ritsch ofOmaha; 10 grandchildren;and 19 great grandchildren;two sisters-in-law: MagdalenSprakel and Julie Sprakelboth of Crofton, Nebraska;and numerous nieces andnephews.
She was preceded indeath by her parents; herhusband, Charles in 1985;two brothers: Eugene Sprakeland Waldemar Sprakel; andthree sisters: Maryann Hill-man, Helen Kollars and SisterEthel Sprakel, OSB.

Jayne was born May 20,1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah toMelvin and Donna (Leake)Furby. A year after she wasborn, the family moved to Al-bion, Nebraska where theyfarmed and raised QuarterHorses, Polled Hereford Cat-tle, Hampshire Hogs andchickens. Jayne attendedBoone School District #4 andthen graduated from AlbionHigh School. She worked as a
RegisteredNurse in Al-bion beforemoving toKohles Acresin rural,Crofton, Ne-braska. OnApril 24, 1987,Jayne marriedHarold “Ole”
Olson. After their marriage,they lived in Yankton andJayne worked at KnutsonWestern Store, then AbilityBuilding Services and finallyat the Human Services Cen-ter, retiring in the late 1990s.Harold and Jayne enjoyedriding motorcycles and be-longed to a motorcycle club.She also enjoyed sewing butabove all, she loved the Lordand was a faithful member ofSt. John’s Lutheran Church.Jayne was a loving personwho will be deeply missed.
Jayne is survived by herhusband, Harold “Ole” Olsonof Yankton; son, A.J. Olson ofYankton; three step-children:Lori (Jay) Olson, James

WIC is a special supplemen-tal nutrition program, fundedby the U.S. Department of Agri-culture, provided at no cost toeligible moms, babies and chil-dren. Its goal is to help im-prove health by providingnutritious foods to supplementdiets, offering education onhealthy eating, nutrition andbreastfeeding, and making re-ferrals to other services.
If your family income doesnot exceed the followingamounts for the size of yourfamily, you could qualify for
WIC (listed as family size/185percent of federal povertylevel): 1 — $21,590; 2 —$29,101; 3 — $36,612; 4 —$44,123; 5 — $51,634; 6 —$59,145; 7 — $66,656; 8 —$74,167; 9 — $81,678; 10 —$89,189

She hasASD (atrial septal defect),which is a hole in her heart.This will require open-heartsurgery on June 11 in Min-neapolis. Paige lives in Min-netonka, Minn., and is thegranddaughter of Debbi High-land of Yankton.

Citywide Curbside CleanupPlanned For Next Week
This is a reminder that the annualYankton Citywide Cleanup is scheduledto begin on Saturday, April 5. Residentson city garbage collection routes maydispose of materials at no additionalcharge.
Materials may be dropped off at theSolid Waste Transfer Station located at23rd and Kellen Gross Drive from April 5-12 on the hours posted below. Separationof materials is required at the TransferStation and residents must adhere to theregulations.
