Year 6 Mini Fete This annual event was sensational. Congratulations to our Year 6 students and teachers who worked tirelessly to present an outstanding mini fete last Friday. All students from Kindergarten to Year 6 had a fabulous time participating in the great fun activities on offer. We appreciate and thank Year 6 students for their organisation, behaviour, generosity and enthusiasm. The monies raised are kindly and generously donated back to the school – Thank you and well done Year 6. “We would like to say a big thank you to Matt Adams, the branch Manager of Milton Bendigo Bank for the prizes so kindly donated to make our “Find the Golden Animal” stall a BIG SUCCESS at the mini fete. Thank you from Caitlin, Lauren, Skye, Neo, Maya and Katherine Recount: On the 9th of November 2012, year 6 of Milton Public School had their mini fete. We had 13 stalls: Fortune Telling, Disco, Cupcake Stall, Drink Stall, Haunted House, Handball, Find the Golden Animal, Soccer Shootout, Super Soaker, Shoot em’Down, Obstacle Course, Hit the Hooligan and Makeover Studio. They were all great fun. We raised $2244 from the 561 kids that bought tokens. When it was over, the year 6 students organising the talent quest put on a fabulous show. The finalists from the heats we had a couple of weeks before, were fantastic with their songs, dances, poems and jokes. The prizes from the stalls were given out to a few lucky kids. When the talent quest was finished, Year 6 had to clean up the mess in their stalls. Find the Golden Animal was horrendous cleaning up and it was not very much fun. Everyone went home with smiles on their faces. By Georgia R and Lucy H

PSSA Cricket Knockout Another successful season of cricket draws to a close after Milton Public School travelled to Baulkham Hills to play Jasper Road Public School in the quarter final of the NSW PSSA Cricket Knockout on Monday 12th November. Milton lost the toss and were sent into bat facing a very skilful and confident Jasper Road bowling attack. However, Milton held strong and managed to dent the opposition’s confidence putting on 69 hard earned runs. The innings of captain Cody R was a delight to witness as he scored an unbeaten 42 runs. He had some assistance with Angus R and Dale R both valuing their wicket and giving Cody as much of the strike as possible. After lunch Milton began their defence with enthusiasm. However, Jasper Road’s opening pair managed to score the winning runs on a very fast outfield without the loss of a wicket. Milton must be praised for their determined fielding to the end and sportsmanship in which they played the game. All the boys are to be congratulated on the way they have carried on the Milton tradition and spirit of the game of cricket. It was a pleasure to see positive comments towards their own players and the opposition, recognising great play and skill. Thank you to Chris Jones for scoring and the parents for providing transport, support and encouragement once again as we travelled across NSW. The wonderful support of the parents makes coaching and organising a school cricket team a pleasurable experience. It is without a doubt we have the best parents in the state. I look forward to next year as we begin our cricket journey once again with a new batch of eager and enthusiastic young cricketers. Batting Cody R 42 not out/ retired Dale R 9 runs Thank you to Mr Grant for all your hard work and efforts in getting our Milton Public School team to this level and for providing this fantastic opportunity. Letter emailed to the school I am Dale Ramsden’s Grandmother. Today I attended the PSSA quarter finals with my daughter-in-law Julie to offer my support to the Milton Team. The boys behaviour and the support they gave each other was exemplary. Although the team lost the game they were very sportsmanlike in their defeat. Congratulations to Stephen Grant for all his hard work during the year and for instilling in the boys such a wonderful team spirit. Well done Milton and good luck in 2013!

Kindergarten 2013 Our Kindergarten 2013 students and parents have been to visit us here at “big school” over the last two weeks. All Kindergarten 2013 students were given a ‘goodie bag’ with name cards, activities, stickers, treats and colouring pages to help them prepare for school. We thank Bunnings Ulladulla, Bendigo Bank Milton, Ulladulla Funland and Pricemart Variety Store Ulladulla for their generous donations to our ‘goodie bags’. Well done and thank you to the Kindergarten teachers for Orientation. We look forward to seeing our new Kindergarten students in the New Year.

Thank You A heartfelt thanks to all the parents who have volunteered to assist in the covering of the wonderful new Home Readers recently purchased. This is a huge job and the help of many has certainly lightened the load.
