Thirty years ago, I met aman from Lubbock that en-couraged me greatly. GilbertHerrera, a man with a veryrough background that had re-cently come to Christ. He hadbeen a cocaine addictedyoung man that became thePrime Minister of the BrownBerets and a member of Or-ganized Crime. Yet he was de-livered from the depths of sinand came to Christ some thirtyplus years ago. Jesus set himfree and set his wife, Gloria,free as well. Gilbert is comingto Clovis to tell his story at theEastern Baptist Associationmeeting in just a few days onApril 9th.
Over the past thirty yearshe has been involved in tellingothers about Christ and his de-liverance from the penalty andpower of sin in jails and prisonsas well as Evangelism Rallysall over our nation. Like theApostle Paul, Gilbert had at-tacked churches but now he
seeks to build them up. Thisevent is not just for churchmembers to celebrate but it isan opportunity to bring lostfriends to hear and respond tothe gospel.
Tucumcari Baptist Associ-ation is also invited to bringlost people from their commu-nities to hear Gilbert tell ofGod’s Grace. This could be aturning point in someone’s lifemuch the same as Gilbert experi-enced. Our Spanish speakingfriends will not want to missthis event as it will be bilingual.
A lady that sings at most ofthe rallys that Gilbert speaksat will be coming to encour-age us as well, her name isNoelia Cavazos.
Also, the music team fromParkland Baptist Church willbe leading us in worship as weall sing of God’s Grace. Thiswill be one big celebration thatyou will not want to miss.

Pastor Randy Joslin will be re-turning as Camp Pastor.Please begin to pray for him ashe begins to prepare his heartand mind for this ministry.Camp will set up on June 12,meetings June 13-15, and teardown on June 16.
