Description: Business Card for an imaginary

    company called Illusion Audio.

Process: I designed the logo with Adobe Illustrator and started by simplythinking o an object that I could represent with a simple illustratordesign. I saw a set o speakers and the idea took o rom there. thespeaker design was made with a simple rounded corner rectangle tooland two o set circles inside. I gured that any number o colors couldbe used on the rectangle portion o the speaker symbol but I just pickedturquoise and went with it. When I began thinking o what to call thecompany I rst determined that it would be an audio store, and then theLED lights that are used on proessional audio equipment came to mind.I thought it would be a cool idea to use that somehow in the name o thecompany. I decided to use Illusion because it started with three lettersthat could be easily made to look like LED sound board lights. I createdthe ill with the rectangle tool and then reshaped the the rest o the textto align with it. It was a very interesting process and learning experience.Ten I began thinking o how I could design my business card and triedmaking simple straight lines to section o parts o the card but it lookedwrong and boring. Ten the idea popped into my head to use a kind osound wave, to go with the theme o the company, as a divider and eyecatcher. It kind o went with the whole sound board idea but I came at itrom a slightly dierent angle and went simpler making just white lines

instead o multi-color. o mix things up a little I created a burst in thesound wave and made the longest line in the burst leading right to myname to kind o draw the eye to my personal inormation.

    Description: Letterhead for an imaginary

    company called Illusion Audio.

Process: For this letterhead I used the logo I had designed or thebusiness card. I placed the logo at the top o the page and then took anenlarged desaturated watermark o the speaker symbol and placed acorner o it in the bottom right corner. Ten I simply typed my contactinormation in small text across the bottom.

Description: A brochure created for the

    imaginary company illusion audio.

Process: I began by taking my old logo or illusion audio and designingthis brochure around that. I pulled the logo over to In Design romIllustrator and then aligned it on the cover so that the ill was on theront page and then placed the usion on the part o the second pagethat hangs out. then I thought it would be a nice touch to add an F onthe inside so that when the page turns you could see the Fusion. Tisseemed a good way to hint to the costumer that this company is usingquality sound with a reasonable prices and a simple nature. Ten I oundphotos orm the web that showed dierent types o audio set ups to helpshow what the costumer would expect rom our services. I edited thephotos in Photoshop and basically just cut out the backgrounds on themso they would look more uid and part o the brochure. I then took thetext which I had written out previously and inserted it into the whitespace on the brochure. I added the caption Can you hear the idea? tothe cover and it all came together pretty nicely.

Program(s) / ools used: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Word

Objectives:Set up and align a two-sided, olded document.

    Description: Three alternately styled logos

for the same company created in illustrator.

Process: For a while I simply sat and thought about what company Icould invent or use or this project and eventually it dawned on me thatI should create some logo options or my athers company which hasbeen lacking any real design eatures or a ew decades now. I wantedthe rst logo to be simple and kind o industrial. at rst it had nocontrast and was just the stencil ont all throughout. Some eed backrom classmates made me think to add some contrast there so I putMacnsons in a cursive ont and made it red.

Te second logo was, or me, a stroke o genius. At rst I just createdour squared and put them together to orm a larger square but evenwith dierent colors it looked a lot like the Microsof Windows logo.Ten the idea came to put smaller tile like squares with dierent shadeso the larger block inside each block to kind o bring the window ideaand the more detailed aspects o construction, like tile work, together. Ithen played around with the outline color and switched it rom black towhite which made the image pop a lot more.

Te third image just seemed like a natural route to take. I made a verysimple house out o two triangles and two blocks gave them dierent

shades o brown to make each shape stand out and separated theMacn rom the sons to stack the two and put the construction in aseparate block. at rst the lines on this image were black as well. I madethe same design change with making them white but I also added a linegoing nearly all the way across the two blocks separating the Macnrom sons and underlining construction. Tat design choice helpedbring the whole image together.

How the logo represents the company: each version o the logorepresents the company a little dierently. the rst kind o brings outthe roughness and proessionalism o the company, the second shows

the dierent aspects o the work the company does and the third showsthe potential client that the company deals with home construction andprobably sends the clearest message.

Description: A web page created with HTML

and CSS to showcase a logo designed for a

    mock company.

Process: Te rst thing I had to do was design the HML. I began thisstep with a general template or how the page was supposed to be setup which I then copied into a code editing program. Ten I enteredthe HML codes to prioritize and place the text in the correct places, indented the code to make it easier to read and edit in the uture, changed the text in the headers and body to be relevant to my logo andthen I re-sized and saved my logo as a PNG to place in the code. TenI linked the HML to a CSS code that was basically already done but

needed to be customized. I used the eye dropper tool on my logo inIllustrator to retrieve the hex color codes rom it and then copied andpasted it into the CSS code where I elt it would compliment the pageand my logo best. Ten I changed many o the other text onts andcolors and added notes in the code to help edit it in the uture. (182words)

    Photoshop.

Process: I began this project by searching or images o the imberson the internet. once I had the images I wanted I placed them on aPhotoshop document and added layer masks on the two images inthe oreground. I aded the edges out gradually on the older black andwhite image so that the transition rom black and white to color wouldbe smoother. on the color image I selected just the player (because thebackground was extremely busy in the image and i just wanted him)and then gradually brushed out the less important parts o his body.

Ten I added a smudge stick lter to the background image and addedthe text.
