BrochureInstructor: Cory KerrCourse: Communication 130 Section 03Date: 4/4/15

Programs Used: Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator

Description: This Brochure was really fun and too me a long time to complete. It was difficult to incorporate all the Adobe Software.

Objectives: The purpose of this Brochure was to simply inform future parents or anyone about babies and what to expect.

Process: For this project I created a logo in Illustrator and placed it on a cover picture that I took myself and then typed up the body copy in Word and created an Offset Fold Brochure.

LogosInstructor: Cory KerrCourse: Communication 130 Section 03Date: 4/4/15

Programs Used: Adobe Illustrator

Description: These logos represent a gym/training center and by the design I wanted this gym to come across as intense or rough.

Objective: My objective for this project was to properly utilize all the Illustrator tools that were required for the project and create visually stunning logos about a gym/training facility.

Process: For this project I worked mostly in Adobe Illustrator and utilized the Pen Tool a lot while incorporating the pathfinder tool.

LetterheadInstructor: Cory KerrCourse: Communication 130 Section 03Date: 4/4/15

Programs Used: For the letterhead I worked out of Adobe Illustrator and worked a lot with the Shape Tool and the Dividing Tool found in Pathfinder.

Description: This letterhead was designed to match the business cards I created.

Objective: The message I was trying to get across is that sharper edge. I don’t exactly know what my company is, I made up the name and liked it, but i’m not quite sure what the company does.

Process: The Logo I created was actually harder to make than it looks. It looks like it was simple to create, but it actually took me a while to get it down. I had to do it over and over again because at first I couldn’t quite get it to look like my sketch. I used basic circle shapes to get the rounded edges as well as the sharp edges and by this I mean I used the division tool to separate part of the circle to give it an almost ninja star. I then put the letters B.C. in the middle. I then used the line tool to create the straight lines on the letter head.

FlierInstructor: Cory KerrCourse: Communication 130 Section 03Date: 4/4/15

Programs Used: The shaping and formulating for this project was all done in Adobe Indesign.

Description: This is a black and white promotional flier promoting a leadership conference for graduating seniors.

Objectives: The message i’m trying to deliver is geared toward graduating seniors. The flier tells them where and when to go and gives some information as to what the conference will consist of.

Process: I started this project by sketching four separate pictures of what I thought might want my flier to look like. I then chose one out of the four that I liked the most and started shaping and formulating it in InDesign. I organized the white space and where I wanted it to lay, I tried to create a visual flow to lead the eye from the title down to the body and picture and then to the website/D-T-P.

Event AdInstructor: Cory KerrCourse: Communication 130 Section 03Date: 4/4/15

Programs Used: I used Microsoft Word to complete this project.

Descritpion: This is a ad for a John Wayne Film Festival with all proceeds being donated to the Rexburg Cancer Foundation(fictional). Tickets for adults are $3.50, children 4 and older are $2.50, and children under 4 are free. The even will showcase many of John Wayne’s most memorable films.

Objective: The message is an event at a loacal theater showcasing many of John Wayne’s great films with all of the proceeds being donated to a cancer foundation.

Process: I used Microsoft Word to design and layout. I wanted to create an ad that was both pleasing and easy on the eyes. I wanted to create a visual flow in almost a circular motion. You first look at the title then John Wayne’s head which is look down towards the side comment that then directs you down to the lower comment which then points to the information located in John Wayne’s shadow which then leads you back up to the title. I really wanted to use correct alignment and proximity principles in this ad.

MontageInstructor: Cory KerrCourse: Communication 130 Section 03Date: 4/4/15

Programs Used: This project took hours in Adobe Photoshop to complete.

Description: In this project I blended a few images together to make a full on montage. I used a picture of a female warrior outline standing on a mountain then blended in the scary eyes and overlayed the montage with a lightning storm and blended that in and finally I blended in an overlayed picture of sunlight to give sunshine in the left of the montage.

Objective: I hope my montage and uplift and edify those who look at it. My goal was to depict trials in our lives that we must face that, at times, seem overwhelming and we need to all know that no matter what the sun will shine.

Process: I spent many hours working in photo shop using tools such as the mask tool and the brush tool. I also chose filters from the many selections. I also created many different layers.

Web DesignInstructor: Cory KerrCourse: Communication 130 Section 03Date: 4/4/15

Programs Used: I created this web page in Text Wrangler using HTML and CSS.

Description: This web page was created to show and talk about a logo I created for a made up publishing company.

Objective: The company B.C. Holden: Sharper Edge is a fake publishing company I created that offers people a quicker, easier, and sharper way to publish written work.

Process: I created this web page in Text Wrangler using HTML and CSS. As a class we used a pre-made CSS document. I had never used either of these two resources and working with and learning them was no simple task. It is definitely a learned skill and a different language in itself. I also familiarized myself with validator which came in handy for finding my mistakes and correcting the problem.

PhotodesignInstructor: Cory KerrCourse: Communication 130 Section 03Date: 4/4/15

Programs Used: This project mostly focused on Adobe Photoshop.

Description: This project was designed to help us learn how to photograph properly and how to gain skills in image editing. The picture I used was of an X-man and Iron Man action figures. I set them up as if fighting like we used to do as children when using our imaginations.

Objective: The message I am trying to get across with this project is quite honestly imagination and creativity. I wanted to be symbolic in a way that I used action fig-ures to symbolize imagination. I also thought it was neat to put the word Free in the background and have the action figures fighting as if showing us to free our imagina-tion. The quote I used from George Lucas also says a lot about imagination/creativi-ty.

Process: I first decided on a color scheme that I liked and one that went well with my idea and sketch. I found these action figures after I decided on the color scheme I wanted to use. I then proceeded to edit this image in photo shop by changing the levels, saturation, and color. I then different size rectangles at different angles and filed them with different colors. I incorporated my color scheme title and swatches (to the right of the picture).
