This scarf is fun and easy to make

and if you crochet fast, you can complete it in an

evening. It would also make a great gift!

Materials Needed A bulky yarn that is almost twice as thick as worsted

weight. I used Lion Brand Homespun in Covered Bridge

Red

Size K/10 or 6.5mm aluminum crochet hook

Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Yarn Thickness: 5mm

Gauge: 4" by 4" = 10sc x 10R

Finished Size: One size fits most adult women

Skill Level: Beginner

Special Stitch: Vst dc, ch1, dc

in stitch indicated. When it says

to Vst in vst, this means to work

a dc, ch1, dc in the ch1 space of

the previous row's vst.

Instructions ROW 1: Ch28. Dc, ch1, dc in

5th ch from hook. Sk 2 chs, dc,

ch1, dc in next ch 7 times. Sk

next ch. Dc in last ch. Ch3, turn.

ROW 2-36: Vst in each vst

across. Dc in top of ch3. Ch3,

turn.

Finishing To turn this into a Moebius

scarf, you are going to join the

first row to the last row in such

a way as to sort of hide your

seam. You will be joining each

vst to the base of the first row's

vst with a slip stitch.

You already have your ch3

which you made at the end of

row 36. Lay the scarf in front of

you so the first ch of the starting

chain is in the upper left corner.

Your chain 3 of row 36 should

be at the lower right corner.

Now to form this into a

Moebius scarf, twist the scarf a

half turn so your ch3 is at the

upper right corner. Fold the

scarf in half so this upper right

corner meets the upper left

corner and pick it up so this

corner is on your right. Join the

ch3 to the upper left corner with

a slip stitch and work the

following across to the other

corner.

*Dc in next vst of row 36. Slst

in base of next vst of row 1. Dc

in same vst of row 36 as last dc.

Rep from * across to the other

end, ending with a dc in top of

ch3, then join with a slip stitch

to the corner stitch of row 1.

Fasten off and weave ends into

work. Wear with this seam on

the back of your neck.
